I don’t intentionally over line my 10′ 7wt rods but I do use lines with aggressive tapers like steelhead and pike tapers.
As for the testing question I certainly don’t have all my lines available for testing but I will let my customers test different weight lines.

I forgot about the sound part, I figured being up stream of the feeding fish and drifting over them would work. It does smack a bit of desperation, but all flies are equal it’s just that some flies are more equal than others. ::)

My hand me down camera from my wife has image size settings, if I know ahead of time what I’m taking the picture for will this cut out the resizing step.

The Mclean weigh nets are very nice. I use the folding model with the extension handle and a 15 pound scale . I also have a really nice long handled wooden net that the previous owner put a hex on because I never catch a netable fish when I carry it or Cameron is just a better fisherman
