You all are making me look into this whole striper thing. I caught my first 2 by luck this year – right place right time. I give warning on this. Do not cast to a striper with the 5 wt you keep in the car.

I feel for the drift guides…. I give you all props. I did a summer on the Ocoee years ago manning the big rubber buses – white-water is a different game. The difference is… It was okay for my folks to fall out and get wet – the bumpier the better. If they lost their sun glasses – all was well and part of the story.

Best of both worlds–BW and RGB 🙂
I just noticed that you did the same thing too Kevin lol.. Like the boots idea as well 🙂

I thought the new boot are a major part of the story. I am going to figure out a way to color her face to finish it out. She has the proud smile that we need to show off.

Ben – I had a color one that looked like yours… Great minds….

Dark is easy. It is hard when they are blown. This is a learning tool for me as well. This one looks cool – kind of artsy.

this is a hard one. The shadow info is in there but the color info is blown out. We can go black and white or it could take a while recreating color.

Scott. We are glad you are here. I dug around many sites for along time not sticking to one – then I found this site. The folks here are good people. Their knowledge is amazing and the respect everyone has for one another is like no other site I have been.

    Welcome…

    American Wife Goods For Sale:
1 Treadmill. Walked on twice after hearing the promise of “I’ll use it everyday.” How was I to know she meant use it everyday to hang the clothes on after taking them out of the dryer.

1 case of never read books including titles like “The Human Body, The Owner’s Manual”, “Lose 10 Pounds In 10 Days” etc after hearing “I need this” about a zilliion times.

1 Complete set of drums still in box after hearing “I want to learn the drums” about a zillion times.

1 Fender StratoCaster-Red-Professionally reconditioned-Played only by me on the rare occasion (I’m an acoustic guy) after hearing “I just have to have a red Strat and learn bottleneck slide licks” about a zillion times.

Many other items. If your American Wife want’s it, mine probably has it for sale.

I don’t have any idea of the wants and needs of a Russian Wife, but I doubt they can be more expensive.

    😉

Ron – Man you crack me up…

Let me tell you… You’re messing up man. Hear is a lesson. When they ask for that stuff. Get them a fly rod or reel, that miter saw you need, whatever and so on. They catch on quick because your gifts from her turn into treadmills and stratocasters… The first couple of times is a trip to the doghouse but after they catch on… You are golden.

You have the makins of a rock band… and you can even use the treadmill as a prop on stage.

Time to swill some more vodka… the little lady is coming home.

    Great post so far…

Its a little off topic but have to ask about the 3. Klinie also. I cannot find anything. I’m glad I know where everyone is from. These list wouldnt make sense. But I am seeing a good top five or six emerge that everyone could fish with daily.

Kind of like Grits and Sweet Tea – Not everyone does exactly the same thing or they might even know what Grits and Sweet Tea is.

    Red Assed Bastard…

    Great fly.

A little different than the red ass I know – red ass soft hackle (another great fly by the way) But there is a big family of red ass that all kind of stem from the royal coachman flies. I’ve seen multiple variations of this fly.

There are times where I think you could just wrap a little peacock hearl on a hook and you would catch something.

    Technical difficulties.

I think Zach has his hands full with the provider. We have been in military time as well. I know he has been working on it. I kind of like the small avatars though… a little cleaner look.

my clipping was pretty ordinary …i will look at softening the mask …I got the reflection right on the green one though the black was a bit cruddy

the Abel ad is on Midcurrent and their site ….

    AL

AL – That was a compliment to your clipping mask on the black one. It is hard to do. I wish folks here could get it that close. It was a rotated reflection not a mirror was my basic comment. Some ad folks like it that way. (I cannot explain why)

I like that Abel Ad. Finally getting back to clean old fashioned olgivy ads – the product tells the story.. Nice photo as well. Is it photoshopped and to what extent? I am going to find out who did it and HOW… I’ll find the print add and I can figure it out.

I’m trying to find the Abel ad you are talking about.

When doing reflections with ps… watch the image – it should reverse the type in the reflecton if you want it “correct”. BUT in most ad and brand work they tend to ALWAYs want the logo or brand name to be right reading – personally I hate it. That is a good way to see if is natural or not.
