    I took this photo on a very cold morning on th truckee river in reno,nv. what do ya think

    It looks cold…

    If I may, I recently asked for some advice and got some guys giving me really good criticism… I learnt a hell of a lot from just a few good comments…

    Here is my comment…

    The picture, it self is good, the focus is good and the character is interesting, but I see it lacking a story, it says it was cold, but that’s doesn’t tell me more…

    In the correct context, like an article of a photo essay, that pic will be great, but as a stand alone, I would like to see more rod…

    I think this shot would be more successful with a better background. As it is now, the snowy background is boring and doesn’t make me recognize that someone was actually fishing in those conditions. The photo is more about the temps/weather than the act of fishing in the temps/weather. I think a darker background of the stream/river would be much more interesting. I love the sunrise reflection in the epoxy over the rod wraps. Makes me miss fishing in Colorado during the winter.

    WOW, I can see it now… Steam coming off the water, maybe even have the anglers shadow, the sun glinting of the rod wraps, tall snow covered Rocky’s in the back ground…

    Work Flow, thats what I am learning about…
