MemberONE… why would anyone do “real color correction” on a laptop? mac, pc or whatever… COME ON
TWO… The Millions of colors option is in every operating system, and I cannot remember the advertising for it anywhere.
THREE… understand how a computer works before playing a silly game like this. WE ALL PAY THE PRICE FOR THIS.
Go to McDonald’s and get some coffee. Pour that coffee on your crotch. Make a lawsuit because you can’t read the warning label on the cup. Be very sure to take 100 color corrected glossy 8 x 10 photos of your blistered …….

MemberThanks everyone… It is going to take a bit to get back in shape. I have been behind a computer to much and need to spend the time getting my hands dirty – this is a way to start.
I have made a pledge to myself to get one “something” done each day.
I do like this one due to it being a major influence in my life.

You are correct. Usage truly dictates the photo. I needed to clarify that this is a photo journalist way of approaching a photo. Magazines, newspapers and such. AND

No problem and no delay. Trust me… I keep busy. Do not stress on getting me stuff.
I am slowly getting my art supplies back so I have been test driving some of my new stuff. The hard part is the organization… I had it the way i wanted it. I have posted some doodles around the site. I am kind of proud of my Grandfather drawing that I did last night. It has been 10 months since I did a “serious” drawing – so this was a good memory to start with.

MemberThis sky was really strange this whole day, there was smoke from fires everywhere and kind of rainy.
I technically know how to shoot a good shot and what to shoot – I just never take the time to do it, do not have a camera to do it (anymore) and just carry a point and shoot. I get the image and go. I guess it helps that I have extensive art directing experience. I started taking photos just for illustration material and going digital is amazing for just that..

MemberNo Photoshop on these. I was digging through a couple of disk I had made at the office and found these. These are straight from the raw file and done with a little Panasonic Lumix point and shoot. Great little camera, Same bones as the Leica in the same size but half the cost.
If it were waterproof, it would be the perfect fishing camera.

MemberIn thought of Mikes addiction.
If I get them… that means my wife has to get them too. AND IF IT HELPS make her comfortable enough to get her on the river, That means I can get on the river more. MATTER of fact, I will buy her the expensive PROS and get me a pair of canvas hips…. just to get on the water.
Trout (anonymous) Unlimited – There is no 12 step program for this addiction AND the more that you are on the water, the more you have to be on the water. (Its Kinda Like Crack and I’m a Pusher)

MemberI love your work, the reds remind of my grandfathers second home in Steinhatchee Florida. I learned how to drive on those straight roads when I was eleven. I basically grew up fishing those flats and havent been there in years. After looking through your photos, I need to plan a trip. I would love to see my wife hook into one of those reds (any red for that matter)
I will dig through the site a little better tomorrow on a land line. I REALLY LOVE THE EGGS. I might be buying that one for my wife. AND I will not ask about your experiences with Absinths.

MemberI had a library that was full of just about any kind of commercial use background imagery that you could imagine. I have rethought my focus and want to narrow my illustrations to an out door focus. So here is a good list for you. I am basically looking for the stuff to build “THE REST OF THE STORY” that was mentioned in the “Golden Rule” thread.
trees,
grasses.
Macro water and rock shots
Insects
all around nature shots
Good landscape shots
odds and end fish or outdoor imagery.
Bird Hunting
Dogs
Birds (Quail, Grouse, and So On)And So On…. Outdoor stuff
I lost EVERYTHING in a fire and there are somethings the insurance company cannot replace. All of mine was slides and I would project it and paint it (kind of loosely to make it fit what I needed at the time) Now I am rethinking how I do everything.
I lost all my computers, art studio, fishing and hiking gear, tools and so on. Everything down to the shirt on my back and my winston in my car. It has been a hard row to hoe but we are coming out stronger than ever. I now am working on focusing my career to what I really want to do
Thanks and I truly appreciate the support.
Kevin.

MemberI wanted to thank everyone for the rod suggestions. I am going to get more rod than I was going after but the “Idea” behind the rod kind of grew. I have never fished glass but after trying a few, that made my decision easy. I also went with a guy that that could customize my rod to my needs. Check out Mike McFarland and his rods. Great Guy and I really appreciate the Ideals of the independent builders. Going with Mike also gave me the opportunity to make this rod mine as well as his. AND his rods are BEAUTIFUL.
Which Rod did I order?
6′ – 5 wt. – 4 piece – Presentation Grade Spruce Creek
“Scott Style” grip because that is what I am used to
Blued Hardware with an Agate guide
burled amboyna screw lock reel seatHere is the best part of making this a special rod… He is inscribing

Member[align=center:ptvklt7s]I would not recommend this but I happen to know that Beagles Hair is perfect for tails (white, black, and brown)

but beware… the wife kinda freaks out if she sees a bald spot.[/align:ptvklt7s]

MemberWhy I say it feels right is the distractions. The fire hose is a little distracting but cool and old like the car. Some of the spots on the floor make it look like it might have an oil leak – But the car is old and cool and should have leaks and squeaks – and that is the charm. The original photo tells a little more story to me. That is really what I look for in a photograph – the story. BUT… I touch up product shots all day and it makes me really appreciate natural photos.

MemberAn uncle has an excel mudbuddy that I have used for much what you are saying. It has a tall short motor (that is what he calls it – I do nt know the proper term) and set with a push pole. He has it for Duck hunting but I’ve used it for everything else. You can get it in colors other than the camo… I’m not sure if they have that yellow or not. 🙂
