I dug out some old photos of my Grandfather this afternoon while over at my parents house. I had to draw this one because it was what I remember of him. A true fisherman. A man who retired at 44 to fish full time. There are details of the original photo that I remembered about him. The hat and cigar… buttons missed on his coveralls because he was site fishing from his back porch to the lake – when he saw the fish rising he would run to the lake to catch them on top water – not completely getting dressed, missing buttons, shirts on inside out. The fish was the priority.

This is my grandfather and he is why I fish today.

That is beautiful stuff. I like the story, and I think the drawing really tells it well. I would hang that on my wall!

Thanks everyone… It is going to take a bit to get back in shape. I have been behind a computer to much and need to spend the time getting my hands dirty – this is a way to start.

I have made a pledge to myself to get one “something” done each day.

I do like this one due to it being a major influence in my life.

I use to draw daily and that has changed over time. Now, I am behind a computer to much and I have a little carpal tunnel issue going on. The doctor says I need to Fly Fish More. ;D
