Also, buy a few of those huge 12″x12″ ripple foam patches. Â The front seat of my wood boat flips up and is the worlds largest fly box- I stuck a few of those patches to make 3 feet of ripple foam under the lid. Â Its a great system for me.Dave,
I like the magnetic stickers you can get from cliff outdoors. They work really well and all you do is set the fly down on it and it sticks very well. That is my drying spot before they go back in the box. The ripple foam to me is a pain and flies have a tendency (in my experience) to always want to pop out. You should give the magnets a try. I think you will be impressed!Joel

Lando I love all of the Cliff boxes. They are inexpensive and built to last, but I am really looking for the compartmentalized style box for the boat bag. It is just easier to clean up all the flies laying around at the end of the day.

I’ve got a question about driftboats. Â Are most people saving up to buy them all with one check, or do you get financing some how? Â And if so, what’s the best type of financing to use?

All the guys I know save up and by them with one check. You should never need another boat unless you want to “trade up” and if you are loyal to the company you bought your first one from they take pretty good care of you. 😉

Welcome JT! The only southwest person I know of around here is Aaron Otto and I have not seen him around much lately. Funny thing to me is I never think of Arizona as a place that has trout water. I just think hot desert so it will be fun to see your posts!

I am a fan of the podcast as well. It is like having a friend in the car with me on my drive to and from the ranch. I would love to hear Morsie interviewed again in the near future. Even though it was one of your longer podcasts it was one of my favorite! I could listen to him tell fish stories all day long and the follow up he did with photos was simply nothing short of amazing!

Great post and great story! I have two good friends who are very involved in Project Healing Waters (in fact one of them created the logo above for them) and I can tell you first hand that this is an organization that changes people lives for the better. I think it is awesome that such a special rod was given to them Giuliani. What your kindness has done for those soliders is something that will last forever!

I like the second one quite a bit but the other two don’t do much for me. They seem slighty out of proportion and the third one is akward with the hands in it. Just my opinion.

Great report Tim! Funny to hear that theft is so bad as I did not experience that at all last year on the South Island. Your report definitely has me excited about returning there at the end of March!
How addicted to pies are you? The breakfast pie was a staple for me last year when I was there! I had one almost everyday… 🙂

I have to give a big thumbs up for their customer service too. I was having problems with a promo code and Andrew worked very hard for me there to get it fixed as quickly as possible. Couldn’t say enough good things about them.
