The Itinerant AnglerHey guys –
From time to time I get questions about the size of the podcast audience, usually from advertisers.

MemberZach,
I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your podcast.Jan 26, 2010 at 6:16 am #41295Chris Beech
MemberZach, I travel a bit with work and its a pleasure to subscribe to the podcasts through iTunes – gets my mind back to things I”d rather be doing when I’m not… Your podcasts are nearly as good as your articles, which always read well by the way.
Keep up the great work!
Best Regards,
Beechy

David AndersonMemberI’m a big fan as well Zach.
The depth and range of subject matter is great – well done.

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

Mike McKeownMemberWow, those are some serious numbers… 500+ gigs of traffic for one show, or are my fingers not working properly??? I do 15 to 20 gigs a month.
I am a great podcast giver, I normally make about 10 copies of my latest podcasts and give it to the less fortunate, those without DSL. I have a few mates who do the same…
So I recon that your 10 000 downloads might actually equate to double that in listeners, if not more. I play them in the car on fishing trips to 3 or 4 of my mates.

The Itinerant AnglerHey Mike –
Let’s see; my current January kilobytes of data transferred is 1,139,726,025; so that would be 1.1 TB, right? There have been a total of 14,941 downloads of various podcasts in my top ten hits list so far in January – that works out to about 75MB per download, if the only traffic on the site was people downloading podcasts (which isn’t true, obviously, but the average podcast is only about 35MB, not 75MB). So, yeah, I guess that’s right.

Joel ThompsonMemberI am a fan of the podcast as well. It is like having a friend in the car with me on my drive to and from the ranch. I would love to hear Morsie interviewed again in the near future. Even though it was one of your longer podcasts it was one of my favorite! I could listen to him tell fish stories all day long and the follow up he did with photos was simply nothing short of amazing!

MemberZach, You’ve probably already told your advertisers this, but a fly-fishing podcast is the perfect program for us anglers to listen to in our vehicles on the long drives we make to our fishing destinations.

MemberZach,
I think you do a great job with the podcasts and I really enjoy listening to them. Plenty of interesting topics and guests.
I may plane bamboo, but listening to the graphite rod stuff is always educational. The Gary Loomis interview was fantastic.
Cheers,
Callum

Cameron MortensonMemberZach…the format, style, and content of the podcast is excellent and your skills as an interviewer have gotten a lot sharper as well.
