MemberWelcome! It’s about time. You need to start a thread with some of that info Gordy sends you.

MemberDamn!…just Damn!
It amazes me that the people on this board with the most time-demanding jobs are the ones producing some of the most quality work-MDs, Esq, Photogs, et al. Kinda makes me feel lazy.Let’s start a commune! (But it cannot be in Waco as the last one went horribly wrong!)

MemberAwesome post Neal, as always. Re. your DBL Bunnies, what glue do you use to affix the two bunny strips? I have tried Zap, but I found that it made the Bunny hide brittle, leading to cracked Bunny hide (pun noted but not intended). I then tried Goop, but it was nothing more than a mess of Goop and Bunny fur. Is there a glue I am missing for this application?

MemberCongratulations Mike. I am sure many others share in my envy, but I am glad you made it to where you wanted to be. Although I live in Texas, maybe we can throw some line together the next time I make it up that way.

Memberless wraps of the squirrel.
In Barr’s book, he ties them in olive, white, brown/rust, and natural. You can get all of these colors from BP; I would buy the halfskin. remember to get more sparkle braid for each new bunny color you get.

MemberNeal,
What is the yellow and red material that guy is using in the video you posted-just yarn?

Member10,000 creeks like the one pictured above? How difficult is it for a Yank to get a lifetime visa, with no intention of working? Maybe DA could meet us in the middle and we could have some photog. workshops.

MemberD.A.,
While living in London, I began to follow rugby quite often; I even worked out with a local team. They seemed to enjoy my “American tackles.” We would go to the pub and watch matches, especially the Six Nations, if I recall correctly. I loved it, but when I got back home, Texas, it completely fell off the radar, and I have almost 400 channels! As you are obviously better acquainted with the sport, do we (U.S.A.) even have a team that can compete w/ the Irish, Kiwis, Aussies, etc.?

MemberAlways rinse your gear in freshwater after getting washed around in the surf.
Forgive the ignorance, Zach, but do you dunk your pack, flies, etc., or do you only rinse the rod/reel/line? I could see how the zippers might be vulnerable and the non-stainless hooks as well, but is it necessary for the rest of the gear we typically carry?

MemberDavid,
While I like all of those companies, I would suggest getting a piece of Battenkill luggage from Orvis. It will be the same price, if not cheaper, and it is warrantied forever. I have some myself and do not have to worry about protecting it as it has the warranty. The cordura material seems to be much hardier than the rip-stop nylon on my Fishpond pacs. Plus, you gotta keep in mind that when at an airport, those handlers don’t exactly use “kid gloves” with our luggage.

MemberHey Guys,
Thanks for the input. The more I looked at the photo, the more and more I began to dislike the log at bottom left. At the time, I was trying to play with DoF, but I do not think I pulled it off very well with this exposure, so I have chosen to omit it for now.dusty montgomery
MemberLake Ray Roberts, about an hour north of Dallas. You’re right-there are some good LMB in there, but if you are going to travel for LMB, I suggest you head to Lake Fork.

MemberI played with the image a bit, and after deciding the out-of-focus log took up too much of the frame, I did a small crop, rotation, and a small amount of added color.

MemberJohn,
Good questions, ones I would like to know the answer to as well, but I think we need to see what others have to say: Labrati, DA, John B., Zach, and a few others I cannot currently recall, mon mauvais!
