Sometime I’ll vary the degree of polarization, crank it for the full effect and then back off a bit. You can minmize unwanted contrast. Uneven skies with wide angle lenses can be a problem too. Some polarized images look kind of dead when all the highlights are reduced by polarization. The filter factor for a polarizer is 2.3 to 2.8 stops increase in exposure according to how its positioned… Thank you B+W.
