MemberI reecently bought a pair of the Patagonias. They are the business. Good grip, good ankle support, they’re comfortable and the new Boa lacing system makes life so much easier. I really am enjoying them.

MemberMy old man used to do quite a bit of hiking. 5 day long trails, and they would eat well.
You can take red meat and chicken. Just Vacuum pack it and then freeze it. Eat the chicken first then the red meat. And the cooler the weather, the better.
They would even take a few froties with. Always laughed at some of the other members of the group who would eat soya mince (eeew). Β ;DNowdays you get these packets of rice which gets boiled for 15 minutes in the bag it comes in. I take them to work and eat it for lunch. Its vacuumed too, so it you can take a few in your back pack and wont even notice they’re there.
Oh and I’ve seen that some guys take sachets of cooking oil. Then you can take 1 or 2 potatoes and make fries….
Hotdogs work well too. A friend makes a bread with a can of beer, flower and salt, which is absolutely yummy too.

MemberThanks Neal.
Could one use CS3 instead or LR?Would I be able to achieve that look on my pics with a lens that can do 17mm?
Daryl Human
MemberAbsolutely stunning images as always Neal.
Love the effect on the clouds, how does one achieve that? Need a specific lens?
Daryl Human
MemberThanks π
Yeah, its the Fuji graphite reel seat.
Could be a spin seat, not sure, but it works well anyway πDaryl Human
MemberYeah, the 8ft blanks are not too common.
I picked this one up on Trademe π
Daryl Human
MemberThanks Cameron. Truth is, I haven’t actually fished it yet.
I will be fishing it this coming weekend though, so I’ll let you know how she gets on….Daryl Human
MemberDont think you’ll get any better advice that what Zach has given …….

MemberSerious talent! Great pics man!

MemberI prefer a more modern and agressive look on my lighter rods.
The Sage Click
Β
and Galvan Torque

are my choice of reel for my Scotts (7’7″ 3wt G, 6’6″ 3wt G).
Although the reel is only really storing the line, these are lite, and when fishing lite, I prefer to go the fully monty πDaryl Human
MemberNot sure if I qualify for this comp since I’m in RSA, but here’s mine anyway π

MemberGreat report Tim.
North Island has some great fishing. How far down have you been? Wellington?
Something special about seeing the surf break on the shore while you have a good sized brownie on the end of the line. πDaryl Human
MemberGreat thread this.
I took these with my Sony DSC – W80 and under water housing:

Ok, this one I played with a bit & perhaps the colors are a bit on the “rich” side:

So what do you guys think?
