MemberLast Saturday I drove into the Sierra, was tempted to explore a back road I had never driven up before, found a scenic area, and took my camera for a short walk downhill, and surprisingly, found a nice little stream, and noticed there were trout in it. I walked back to my car, strung up a fly rod, walked back down the hill, and caught a couple of insanely beautiful golden’s, and wished I had rigged up my underwater camera. So, once more, I walked back to the car, and put a camera in the underwater bag, and headed back downhill. Unfortunately, the two largest and most colorful fish of the day were the pair caught and released before having my underwater gear. Oh, well, I had a blast, and can’t wait to go back.

The fish pictures are mind blowing. Did you use an ultra light rod, like a 2 weight?Aug 24, 2010 at 12:29 am #71238graham owen
MemberHi Jay, Thank you, I’m really glad you like the photos. I fished a Winston 2wt, a classic old GL6, and my friend Eric fished a 0wt. My friend really liked the concept of me getting into the water, instead of taking the fish out of water, it really reduces the stress on the fish, while photographing, before releasing.
