Mike McKeownMember(Sorry Zach, community post here)
I just wanted to say thanks to those of you who wished me the best in my time of trouble…
For those who don’t know:
My 1 year old and our nanny/maid was held hostage by a gang of house breaking thugs last week Thursday, for about an hour. Our nanny, Emma, managed to keep a cool head and stopped the f*ckers from hurting her or our baby. She then managed to escape from the house, with our little girl, Sage, and got hold of our security company. The police arrested 3 of them on our premises and arrested the rest later that day.
As the police were finishing their investigations and leaving, so did my wife…
The, with out exception, worst day of my life…

Steve K.MemberWow Mike….just Wow.
I’m glad no one was hurt. Hopefully the predators will get what they deserve.
I hope things work out for you…whatever that may be.

MemberMike, Focus on the positive, and be thankful of what you still have; a young girl to call you daddy!

MemberWow .. I can only imagine how horrible of a experience that was for you. Very glad to hear that your family is safe and they made it through the ordeal. Sounds like your nanny is one cool under pressure girl! Hope those guys get what they deserve.

MemberMike, So sorry to hear about your nightmare. Hopefully time will help it fade to distant memory and all wounds are healed. You’re in our thoughts and prayers.

MemberMan that is some tough things to deal with right there and I wish you the best and hopefully the punks will get to feel some of those same feelings magnified. I have been in a few tough situations and there is no words to express the fears that come with it, but it always makes you stronger and grow a much stronger appreciation for the little things (big things too) that you have. Good Luck man.

John BennettMemberAs I mentioned on FB Mike, having gone through something while different mine left in an equally brutal way/time.
You do recover.
I won’t lie, the next few months are going to test you. Lawyers, bankers will all want their peice of you as you unravel and then start to put it back together….on your own.
friends and family will say they right things, but they will sound just like words. Then one day it happens
For me the magic moment came when she was puling her usual bs and “bossing” me around with regards to selling the house. My reply was ” FO I dont answer to you anymore”.
when you get there and you will, everything starts going back up hill. In the meantime and the intervening months ( for everyone its different). Go fishing, do whatever it is, you need to do to take care of you and your child.
