MemberI love the Scotts, particularly the G series.

Its going to be difficult to give you a precise answer on that one Colin.
We have many rivers that hold trout, in most of states across South Africa.
Each river had trout introduced by a different person. One of the more famous guys was Sydney Hey, who’s story is told in the book, Rapture of the River.To my knowledge, the first trout that were hatched in CPT, were from a hatchery in a cellar in Newlands. This hatchery quickly became too small, so it was moved to a hatchery in Stellenbosch, which is still in operation today.
Not really sure though when the rivers first got stocked, but I’m reckon it was between 1900 and 1930.

Ironically, this Rhodes is no where near the Rhodes University. Its actually situated about 60Km from Barkly East, near Ugie/Mclear/Elliot.
