Nice! I just found and joined this forum and as I am originally from South Africa this thread is a real treat… One of my best friends and fly fishing rivals went to Rhodes University and fished a lot of those waters… some excellent fishing to be had there!

Ironically, this Rhodes is no where near the Rhodes University. Its actually situated about 60Km from Barkly East, near Ugie/Mclear/Elliot.

Yeah I know it’s a good distance away…. He landed up fishing those waters a lot though… Total brain fart on my part as I should know better… I worked for Tiffindell Ski resort for a few years, mainly at the shop in Jhb but visited the resort a lot… Never got to fish those waters though, but my buddy did, quite frequently…

@ Nick – yeah, its weird, whenever you talk to someone about the place, they dont know it at all. Total population is still only something like 22.
