Your reel will work great on your Scott.

My Scott G2 3wt is a little longer (8’4″), but I have a size 1 Ross Evo on it and the balance and size are great.

I would just use your Ross. On a 3 wt, your reel is just there to hold the line anyway.

If you’re looking for some bling, you could look for a hardy to go on it.

On anything smaller than a #5 I start looking for antique reels because as JT said, they are truly just there to hold the line.

I should have added antique Zach, you are right. I haven’t looked a lot on EBay, but I’m sure you could pick up some really cool old reels with a little patience.

I am a fan of the J.W. Young reels out of England from the 50’s and 60’s.

I prefer a more modern and agressive look on my lighter rods.
    The Sage Click

    and Galvan Torque

    are my choice of reel for my Scotts (7’7″ 3wt G, 6’6″ 3wt G).
Although the reel is only really storing the line, these are lite, and when fishing lite, I prefer to go the fully monty 🙂

The click II is what I roll with on my 8′ 2 & 3wt G series rods.  They look really nice and are super light.  The entire set up is super light since the rods don’t have the extra weight of a reel seat.
