You always bring us the killer pics, Cor! Glad the goldens worked out this time. too! 😎

Was wondering where you’d been lately. Glad to see it was time spent with the fishes.

BTW, a buddy just returned from Utah and had some great brook trout fishing. Already talking about going back. Fantasy fish for me. 🙂

Thanks guys!  :-[ <-- embarrassed ... Didn't expect to see this thread. I liked that he opened the door to how my working on games influences my photography.

I’m surprised no one has made that connection before, Corey. When I first heard about your career as a game scene designer, it was the first thing I thought of. Perhap working in graphics the connection was more obvious. Or maybe more people just did not realize the nature of your job.

    Regardless, congrats once again. ;D 😎 😎 😎

Wow, Benny just tipped me to this thread, and these are some of the best pics I’ve seen recently. Zach had it right, HS! Well done.

Darrin: Yup that tiger does have one funny lookin nose!  Open invitation to fish w/ me in Utah, anytime … Any of the IA clan for that matter.

Seriously thinking about a trip out there, Cor. Perhaps next year. This year is fairly well laid out already. I’ll see what unfolds.

In the meantime, as I keep saying, you keep bringing us your wonderful photos. 🙂

Interesting stuff. I tied a few flies after seeing yours last summer, or were they Neal’s? Anyway, I did manage to get a fish that no other fly had been able tempt out of his lair. I’d been trying to get that fish for maybe 45 minutes. Tried at least 10 different flies. Tossed out the Tenkara style fly and he rushed out and slurped it up. Sweet. The rods look interesting. I will have to keep thinking about it. May try it some time.

Looks like some good fishing fellas. Quite the nose on the tiger, Aaron. In Corey’s pic, the first thing I thought of was Jimmy Durante. ;D Then I saw your pic and thought Jay Leno. ;D I will have to get out to Utah one day. Hopefully before the tigers all disappear.

So, Ronnie, you are just twisting the chenile about itself? 😕

I had been thinking of twisting/braiding chenile around a piece of heavy mono/fluoro or even light wire to get the springy action. :-/

Nice. Looks like I was thinking along the right lines anyway. 🙂

I’ll be looking forward to pics as well. A friend does well on the bass with wacky rigged worms. I’ve been rolling ideas around my head on how to create a fly for that action for a month or so. Nothing off the vise as my tying desk has been taken over by rod building for about 6 weeks now. Three more rods to finish, then I can get to tying again.

Yeah, but don’t think we don’t get winter weather here too.

Here are a few from the same river in Jan this year:

Now, that winter weather I mentioned…this next pic is from about an hour before the one following it:

Nothing winter-wise compared to the midwest or northeast, but snow in the face from 30-40 mph winds never feels great.

Still, we do have some great fishing year round. ;D

One word comes to mind repeatedly, Joel: WOW! That was a fun read, and I read it all before viewing the pics.

Great shots, Jason! One question though…

    Did the trout take it:

I’ve never been able to get one on a wasp/yellow jacket fly, yet I see them on the water all the time.

Corey, that ‘Happy Cutt’ pic always brings images of dolphins to my mind…begging a sardine at Seaworld or such. ;D
