(I wrote a nice long reply to this thread last night…but then the 14 month daughter started hitting buttons on the computer and the post was lost somehow.
Well…not only was the fellow late…but upon arrival to the river he blew through about two dozen flies through break offs on fish…logs…branches…everything that could grab a fly…did.
So I am back to the vise again later this week since I have a three day trip coming up at the end of next week.
Awww…give it a try Steve154…what is another charge now that you are living a life of crime…ha.
Since I’ve been using the short rods…in the seven to eight foot category…I’ve been using short leaders in the seven and a half foot length.
I would also look at going to a place where there might be a “magic hatch” occurring but also other options during non hatch parts of the day or if the timing isn’t quite right for the hatch to come off at all.
ibookje…are you fishing with guides or is this a do it yourself type trip?
I’ve fished a few “magic hatches” before but timing and being familiar with the area enough to make the trip worthwhile can be really the hardest parts.
I’ve caught grayling in Joe Wright Resevoir in Northwestern Colorado on one occasion while living there a few years ago.
Hemp…ummm…I am sure that once the narco lords get tired of smuggling tons of contraband over our Southern Border that they might put their heads together to design a new “hemp taper”.
