Cameron MortensonMemberSo…where are the pictures?
Cameron MortensonMemberHere are a couple pictures of “The Box” on a fishing trip this past summer to the Davidson River in N.C. The Yakima roof rack makes a nice secure area to place the fly rod during breaks and lunches back at the vehicle.

Notice the ability of the seats in the Element to fold up against the back windows of the vehicle allowing for a full size canine kennel to fit with ease.
Cameron MortensonMemberThis will be the third year in a row that I made solid plans to attend and then other conflicts have gotten in the way…so maybe next year.
Cameron MortensonMemberI am a man of moderation but do enjoy a drink or two every now and again…
Wine – Most New Zealand Marborough Region Sauvignon Blancs…of note…2002 Dyed In The Wool. They are great summer wines…for dinner…for picnic…for afternoon sipping…
Beer – Blue Moon wheat lager with an orange wedge
Gin – Hendrick’s with tonic water and cucumber slice.
Cameron MortensonMemberAs of last night I finished reading “The Longest Silence” by Thomas McGuane which was an excellent read.
Cameron MortensonMemberGo to http://www.podcastdirectory.com and look up Fly Fish Radio.
Cameron MortensonMemberCF boxes can become every bit as addictive as an off white rock in a glass pipe…”crack” for anglers everywhere…
Typically it starts with a single box…maybe two if it is Christmas (Zach) or the wife didn’t know about those two $20’s hidden in the secret stash pocket in the wallet…and you’ll justify the purchase since “In two boxes you have EVERYTHING you need for a day on the water”…but be warned…it will not stop there…
Cameron MortensonMemberA quick update to the previous post…while examining one of the fly patches I noticed that one of the plastic backs to the spring clutch pin was broken.
Cameron MortensonMemberCarter…I would second the recommendation on the Tibor reels.
Cameron MortensonMemberbd…while writing my post at 0100 a.m. I may have overstated how involved she was in the opening of her presents. There was no glee of anticipation on her face while tearing into each package labeled to her…it was more of a smiling happiness grasping the colored paper and ribbons in her hand…
Cameron MortensonMemberSanta was GREAT to me this year…I am currently loading a six inch stack of CD’s onto my new iPod 30GB player.
Cameron MortensonMemberAh…the full rabbit fur bomber hat…brings back memories of Michigan winter steelhead trips and Canadian bird watching jaunts in sub zero temperatures…like a weekend spent looking for snowy owls, hawk owls, and great grey owls around Sault St. Marie with a high of -15 and a low of
-42…and that was without windchill.
Cameron MortensonMemberWhat part of the foothills of N.C. do you live near?
Cameron MortensonMemberI was finally able to find the Frog Hair indicators while up at Jesse Brown’s in Charlotte, NC this past weekend.
Cameron MortensonMemberI agree that the graphite spacer on the BIIx rods look cheap and I always thought that when I was up for another premium rod that I’d order mine with the wood insert even if there was an extra charge.
Cameron MortensonMemberWhile living in Colorado a few years ago I fished for Kokanee in Lake Carter just outside of Loveland a couple of times.
Cameron MortensonMemberI will be really looking forward to a detailed report and photographs from the area.
Cameron MortensonMemberThanks for the comments on the pictures.
Cameron MortensonMemberAre you looking for a “backpacking” style water filter or something else?
Cameron MortensonMemberMost mainstream fly fishing magazines seem to repackage the same information over and over from year to year.
