Typically it starts with a single box…maybe two if it is Christmas (Zach) or the wife didn’t know about those two $20’s hidden in the secret stash pocket in the wallet…and you’ll justify the purchase since “In two boxes you have EVERYTHING you need for a day on the water”…but be warned…it will not stop there…
A quick update to the previous post…while examining one of the fly patches I noticed that one of the plastic backs to the spring clutch pin was broken.

I agree that the graphite spacer on the BIIx rods look cheap and I always thought that when I was up for another premium rod that I’d order mine with the wood insert even if there was an extra charge.
While living in Colorado a few years ago I fished for Kokanee in Lake Carter just outside of Loveland a couple of times.
Most mainstream fly fishing magazines seem to repackage the same information over and over from year to year.
I was more shocked with the cover art for the book…the shadow of the angler is of a spin fisherman…nothing against that segment of the sport…but Gierach tells story after story about using the glorious cane rods…only to have the clip art on his latest book be of a hardware tosser…
I wonder who in the chain of putting that book cover together made that mistake…and how it wasn’t caught before going to press…
You know what is even better than waders…wet wading…late spring through early fall are prime for wearing a pair of nylon pants, pair of hiking socks, and wading boots or sandals.
