The Itinerant AnglerThis one is a little off topic but I wondered if we’d see some similarities.

MemberBeer: I can and will :)drink anything except Budweiser and especially Bud Light. Even one makes me sick the next day. My favorite is Dundee’s Honey Brown.
Hard stuff: I enjoy filling my hip flask with Johnnie Walker Black. As a general rule I don’t slug booze alot and just enjoy a nip once in awhile.

Cameron MortensonMemberI am a man of moderation but do enjoy a drink or two every now and again…
Wine – Most New Zealand Marborough Region Sauvignon Blancs…of note…2002 Dyed In The Wool. They are great summer wines…for dinner…for picnic…for afternoon sipping…
Beer – Blue Moon wheat lager with an orange wedge
Gin – Hendrick’s with tonic water and cucumber slice.

MemberWhat the heck is a Coca cola, Cameron Mortenson? We call it Coke down South. Good call on the Knob Creek. I recently gave up drinking beer. Here goes:
1. A good single malt scotch
2. Knob Creek, Booker’s, or Maker’s Mark
3. A little B&B in some camp coffee
4. Tuaca chilled on ice
5. A decent red wineIf it’s fall and there’s college football….gimme Maker’s or any cheap bourbon and mix it with Coke in a big ol’ 32 oz cup.

MemberBeer. Far too many good ones to narrow it down to just one. Scotch is alright for backpacking, but I’ve never really cultivated a taste for it.
Are you sure Chateau de la Gardine Chateauneuf du Pape isn’t the name of an adult entertainer?

MemberGetting old…
Coffee and sweet tea here!
I never realized how people behaved when drinking until I gave it up!
I have a toddy now and then, especially home-brewed ‘stomp’ at some of the outings I attend, but I usually stick to stuff that I can drink as much as I like and still blow clean on a breathalyzer. The two things that changed my thinking on drinking mainly are the birth of my two kids (role model crap!) and the penalty for drinking and driving. I make my living behind the wheel.
It is fun watching you folks though! ;D

MemberOn a really cold day take along some peppermint schnapps.
Makers Mark has been my favorite Bourbon lately but I change often.
At home I really like good vodka in any kind of mixed drink. Viking Fjord is pretty good and cheap but Absolute is about as good as any IMO. Grey Goose SUCKS.
In the wine category I like Principato Merlot.

MemberDunfly,
The Abita Brewery is still there and operating. I prefer the Amber, myself! 🙂Besides that, I usually keep a flash of Bushmill’s Black in the tackle bag, just in case.
