Some folks from the UGA Fly Fishing Club and others fished a good bit this weekend. Two of us camped Friday through Sunday and others met us to fish for the day on Saturday. Most fished the major stream while I headed off for some of the smaller tributaries. Stream temps were right around 58 degrees F in the lower sections and up higher (~2500 ft. and above) around 56 F.
Caught several of these

in places like this

and then headed up high for some of these

which resided in pools like these

Those specs will really make you do some crazy things like scaling barrier falls, and crawlin on your belly through rhododendron.
Caught mainly bows this trip with 0 (yes that is a zero) browns. Fished some nymphs in some slower water but just couldn’t manage to pick any up. Sort of makes you scratch your head. Brought around 4 brookies to hand and missed several more (those things are voracious).
Great trip and had a good time goofing off and eating junk food all weekend by the campfire. Our meal consisted of mostly Johnsonville beef brats, oreos, and good ole cold bud light. Also, it was good that the dawgs pulled through for us. Frank and I were sweating that last drive out around midnight. Thank goodness for a nice interception. We stayed up pretty late listening to Munson on the radio by a nice big fire.
Pardon the inexperience with the camera.
