I’ve got a question about driftboats.  Are most people saving up to buy them all with one check, or do you get financing some how?  And if so, what’s the best type of financing to use?

Seems like you could use a tube fly.  The tube would serve the same purpose and the line would be connected directly to the hook.

I have heard of people using cotter pins, but I really don’t see how that would work effectively.

I have two boats.  Both are Ocean Kayak Prowler 15’s rigged for fishing.  Perfect flats boats, low cost and good excercise.

I’ve been talking to some of my kayak buddies and there are a number or reports of good populations of snook in all of the backcountry locations.

Not elitest at all.  It is relatively simple to tie and very effective if the reds are feeding on baitfish.

The bend in the hook is about 30 deg.  I use gold or rainbow mylar flash for the underbody and overwrap it with clear Larva Lace.  A lot of people overwrap with heavy mono.

I drove over the Courtney Campbell (Tampa) today and it was absolutely horrible.  The smell was so heavy you could almost see it!  Quite a few dead ones to say the least. :-/

Lots of food for thought Zach.  I tend to disagree on one point.  In the long run, I don’t think the digital magazines will supplement the printed media, but will, in fact, replace it.  As readers shift to the digital media, the cost per unit of the printed magazines will increase dramatically.  It is a matter of a fixed publication cost being spread over fewer and fewer magazines.  Eventually, the print magazines will be priced out of the market. :'(

1. Kwan
2. Toad
3. Prince of Tides

The Prince of Tides is the easiest to tie, but my favorite is the Kwan.  You should be able to Google all of them to get instructions.
