Would you have to watch out for gators in John Ding Darling at that time of year?

Never fished it on foot, but most all the channels, mangroves and boat docks hold jack cravelle, snook or some other crazed salt water demon.  I love the salt because you never know what’s next.  I have had a couple of great nights fishing any dock that held a light.  Snook mostly and some fine ones! Have fun.

That should be a great trip. I’ve read that you can catch snook from the beach early morning.

There are alligators in Ding Darling, but they tend to stay out of the saltwater.

    Thanks for the help everyone.

If the spring stays as cold as our winter has been, I would suggest staying on the gulf side of the island.

maybe I should bring a 60 wt and a racoon pattern and try to hook into some croc.
