Bob RigginsMemberZach:
Did you write the Beginners lessons on the old Fly Fishing Today forum?
Bob RigginsMemberIt was a bad accident that probably should not have happened. Fortunately the guy was not hurt that bad.
Bob RigginsMemberThanks Zach.
Bob RigginsMemberI agree, it is a great movie.
Bob RigginsMemberBest car I have found is a Subaru Outback.
Bob RigginsMemberI’m with some of the other guys, my drinking days are about over.
Bob RigginsMemberI do that sometimes also.
Bob RigginsMemberI use fluoro because it is clearly (no pun intended) superior to mono in subsurface applications.
Bob RigginsMemberI personally don’t like loop to loop knots for the tippit connection. It is too bulky to me. I use an albright knot and have had no problems, even when tying a fluoro tippet to a mono leader, which is my standard setup. It works fine as long as the fluoro is the smaller line. This would be typical since there is no reason to use a mono tippet on a fluoro leader.
At the risk of raising the ire of the “Grand Pooba”, I have also included a link to an “albright loop” on FAOL that looks interesting. I stumbled over it while following the links in the “Davy knot” thread.

He uses it to make a loop in the flyline, which appears to make too bulky a knot.
Bob RigginsMemberZach,
I see your point and agree that it is a matter of semantics.
Bob RigginsMemberActually I don’t know if I agree with you or not.
Bob RigginsMemberI admit to being extremely biased, but Scott makes a very nice A2 7’6″ 3wt.
Bob RigginsMemberWho is Joshua Green and where did Far Bank Enterprises come from?
Bob RigginsMemberAt least they are not moving to Korea.
Bob RigginsMemberInteresting question.
Bob RigginsMemberI’ve always liked this site.
Bob RigginsMemberI think he was talking about Jackson, TN, but then again, maybe it was Jackson, Mississippi.
Bob RigginsMemberGreat idea Zach.
Bob RigginsMemberDunfly,
We need to do some yak fishing together one of these days…….maybe when it cools down a bit. Perhaps Double Branch or Ozello…….and I know of some AWESOME spots around Steinhatchee.
Kyle
Sounds like a good idea.
Bob RigginsMemberSit on top is the way to go for fishing. They will be wetter, however, that can be remedied by scupper plugs and a sponge. They are as stable as sit ins and you have a lot more freedom of action, particulary when you are getting in and out to wade.
My preference is the Ocean Kayak Prowlers, either the 15 or the 13. I have the 15 but I would probably recommend the 13 for most people. The Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140 is also a nice kayak for fishing. As far as the Hobie is concerned, if you have one you love it, otherwise you hate them.
Important items for fishing.
3 Scotty Fly rod holders ( they work for spinning rods also). Mount two behind you on either side of the seat and one in front between your feet.
Seat. This is a must (although it comes standard on both the OK 13 and the 140.
Anchor on a trolley system so you can move the point of contact of the anchor to the rear or front as needed.
Dry Bag.
Paddle leash and clips
Stake out pole.
