Yes, still here in Florida, fishing every chance I get.  Mostly out of the kayak.  Nothing like going on a sleigh ride behind a big red.

I’m willing, but I’ve got to warn you, I only tie BIG flies and I don’t follow directions.

I would have to say I like your landscapes and streamscapes the best.

    I have the same question.

I started with the standard overhead cast, but after a couple of seminars with Lefty, I gradually changed to a style more like his (although I don’t think he would agree that it is a style, but a technique for certain situations).  I also have a little Chico Fernandez thrown in.

I agree with Zach, you should think of them more as techniques than styles.  When I’m out on the flats I use a side arm “Lefty/Chico” technique, but its not appropriate for fishing small waters.  Then I usually revert back to the standard overhead.

At some point you have to start thinking about developing techniques appropriate to the situation.  When I’m in the kayak I cast with one technique, wading another.  I even have a backhand cast that Lefty taught me for situations in which you have to hit holes in the flora behind you on your backcast to get a decent cast off.  Now I even use the backhand cast for situations when I have a strong quartering wind from my casting side.

Gheenoes are great boats, but they are seriously expensive relative to other alternatives.

Actually you question should be “Do you know anyone who needs a good fishing guide until I can take the Georgia Bar?”

I agree with Zach on about everything he has said, although, I have a slightly different opinion as to the function of the haul.

I don’t know about the fish, but I have to use bright colored lines to see them.

In looking at the list of people buying shirts, it becomes obvious that you have a lot of heavy weights frequenting the board.

I’ll take a XXL.  I like the burnt orange color but I think I like the light color with the natural fiber better.  Being a University of Memphis grad, I’m out if it is that obnoxious UT Vol Orange.  I’ll have to send you a check.  I don’t trust Pay Pal.

In Florida, and I assume all saltwater fisheries, guides must have a captains liscense.

There is not a direct link from a web site.  I’ve posted a link in the forum on paddle-fishing.com several times and have told people about it.  It’s a great site for beginners.  I particularly like the stick men.

Paddle-fishing.com is a local kayak fishing site that is pretty active.  They even set up a separate forum for fly fishing.
