Lowpro makes a toploader AW that’s all weather and will fit a 80-200 or 70-200 with body attached.. you can attach components to the outside of the case, I frequently carry the body with the “money maker” a 28-80 2.8 in a side pocket, as well as the G9 on the other side and a SB600 in the front.
The actual seat itself is just a ceap-o thin wall tube with a cap at the bottom (downlocking) and the standard other hardware… I’d rather not fight with removing that cardboard filler, I’m guessing it’s epoxied to the blank.. which probably means tedius cutting to remove the filler.. but.. hey.. its got lots of great memories and I’d like to make it a little nicer for my daughter.. plus at 8ft it’s an awesome spring creek rod…
If I keep the cardboard tube (which it looks like I should).. I think I should saturate the top and bottom of tube with epoxy to ensure water resistance… I’m surprised it lasted as long as it has being cardboard.. I mean that area of the rod has been under water hundreds of times…
Off the subject, but how do you like the 3.5 Radius reel. I have a 1.5 Radius for my trout rod, but I’m seriously considering a 3.5 for an 8wt saltwater rod I’m building. Madison River Fishing Company has last years model (pre Hard Alox I’m sure) for $99.

In another 3-4 years, you won’t need FF because American Angler, Fly Fisherman and all the others will be WEB based. It’s happening in newspapers now, and even the major mags like SI are making a shift to the internet. The younger generations that are becoming or soon to be the major readers of said magazines do everything on the web. That includes reading fly fishing articles.
Buy the gear that will work for you now, don’t worry about 5-10 years down the road. Aside from the fact that Nikon and Canon are not making camera gear that will last that long anymore, like I said above, we will all be getting our subscriptions via the internet in the near future and you won’t need 25MB files, even on HD monitors.I respectfully totally & completely disagree.
in 1985 a high quality monitor (color VGA) was 640×480.What exactly does someone have to gain by doing something like that? I mean if I were to rob a bank it would be either for A: the money or B: to see if I could get away with it. What would this person gain…just mess up the site a bit? Isn’t it backed up anyway? I’m confused about the motive here?
The motive can be to simply interrupt traffic to the site, or force the host into restarting or rebooting the server or services that may allow the attacker to execute remote code on the target machine.
Watch out for the Olympus Point and Shoot specifically the WS or SW’s.. I returned one because of bad pixels in the sensor and the second one filled with water after use in a pool… >:(
I would caution against using printouts of TSA rules, it’s actually the airlines discression & the gate/flight crew.
