In my humble opinon….
Matrix Metering or multi-sensor evaluative metering coupled with “regionally-variable” ISO will make a difference, but I don’t think it will truely blurr the lines between consumer, pro-sumer, and professional work.
True the image capture will be (and is) more exact to the eye and the sensor, but I still think a significant amount of a photographers work is done in the dark room.
Slightly off topic, but pelican cases were discussed so let me tell you a little tale… First, I have just about every pelican in the 1000 up to 1500 series case.
Your camera uses an N3 wired remote, most of these are only a couple of feet…. perhaps 3-6.. you might find a custom…
Another Idea, and again this is coming from a Nikon guy not a canon guy… so los caveat emptor.
But.. I’ve used my sony UX180 and my little mac connected to a very long USB cable to monitor and capture elusive critters…
I missed that, I agree, I think you’ll need an ike housing with a pc port for a cable trigger or a cable fed manual release, or high end digital.
My experience with the Pentax and Olympus Point and Shoot “water proof” cameras has been dismal, (both failed).
