Little Red is a great night fishery…… easiest spots if you’ve never been there to fish after dark will be JFK park area (right below the dam)… actually the camp-ground area….
You should be able to run both SB-600’s in commander mode off flash.. the 600’s should have come with a tripod mountable foot…. used with a G series lens this can work pretty well in auto mode… but lighting is tricky… I sometimes run a 600 and 800 it’s a pain… I hate using the pop-up flash to run the lights… another option would be cheap (ebay) flash’s and peanut triggers…
Also, I could swear that the 600 has a modeling light…
edit- sorry my bad.. 800 has the modeling light… 600 doesn’t…. I did manage to strobe myself.. I see lots of purple dots….

I think you might have an exposure issue…
I’d slow down the ISO.. WAY down… make the dof shallower and sync the flash with the camera.. perhaps 1/250… I think you might be blowing out because of length of exposure…
also how are you achieving white balance?
if you are going to shoot stuff that wont melt or complain go for constant lighting, spend your money on reflectors, gels, snoots, doors, and backgrounds / table….. you might also consider a ring flash…
I guess I need to get some Velcro patches sewn into the netting on my ghillie suit and other camo items… that I can rip down and expose in large yellow letters…. PHOTOGRAPHER DON’T SHOOT.
Don’t want some LEO “counter sniper” taking me out because I’m lying prone with a large “scope” and a tripod…
Did a 11:30-5 run wednesday with a lot less casting than normal… only time I noticed the arm was during opposite side roll casts (15mph – 20mph gusting wind)…and I tweaked it a couple of times when hiking in while rotating my rod and going down inclines.. wierd.. really wierd…
Other than that.. it seems to be healing… so thank goodness it doesn’t look like bursitus or rotator…
Just tweaked muscles and tendons due to over-use…
digiscoping is cool, just remember that the lens (scope) final elements were designed for smaller than aps sized sensors (your eyes) at a “film plane” right at the eyepiece, so its very difficult to avoid the scope barrel ring, but, just crop.
Should fit no problem… I have to warn you that you should test your peli cases though.. i had a near disaster with mine….
Macro… for static objects sigma makes a super cheap little 28-70 or something like that.. it does a great job as a starter macro.. probably $50 on ebay…
