Great stuff guys! The only thing missing is my mug in that motley crew, ha ha. Looks like a great time and I’m bummed I couldn’t make it. db

Corey, it sounds like you need to do a road trip with Douglas…

Very nice indeed Kelly. The colors are amazing right now on the Northwest trout streams. Winter is coming next week…better get out this weekend and take it in one more time!

Awesome stuff right there Corey! I may be hitting you up for one of those photos to use as the company Christmas card this year! Always a good time hooking up with the members of this board. I have never been disappointed with the folks I have met here!

Corey is pretty darn good on the sticks too people. I actually got to fish out of my own boat which was a real treat!

Just got mine for my Rubicon. I just felt the need to decorate I guess. I do love the way they look on the Trout Unlimited plates though.

in reply to: The internet’s impact on flyfishing? #45208

Hamish I think it is a double edged sword. First the good for me. It has opened many doors to meeting great friends via the common thread of fly fishing. I would have never met many of these fine folks if it were not for the Itinerant Angler. Your buddy Tim Angeli is one of those people. I also think the resourses like google earth are amazing for finding ways to new waters that would have been much tougher to get to a few years back. Having forums like this are an amazing wealth of knowlege when you have that stubborn question that has been bugging you as well as so many people are willing to help out.

The biggest thing I dislike about the internet is hot spotting! Can’t stand it or the people who engage in it. I am more than happy to take someone to my “special spot” but it comes with the idea that I can trust that person not to blab it all over hell and back.

Just my two bits. I look forward to the rest of this discussion.

This is one of my fishing buddies. He has two issues though. He wants to retrieve the fish AND he always wants to be right next to me when I am rowing which can be a real pain. Love him to death though…

Drifter that was an awesome report. I have not been around here in quite a while and only had 10 minutes to burn today and you made it worth every second! Thanks!!!

in reply to: Fly Boxes: What’s your opinion #44859

Tim I like Cliff boxes for wade fishing. I like having the clear plastic so I can see things and I love have the magnet bottom to put smaller flies on. They also have the slit foam which is very nice.

For the boat(s) I have a big Simms boat bag to keep stuff dry so water proof is not that important for me as long as I keep the damn thing zipped! 🙂 Having a bigger box with a clear lids sure makes life easier though.

Great stuff there Tim! Even when the catching is bad the fishing is always great in NZ! Got to start working on getting my ass back there. I think it might be our new home away from home… 🙂

PS- Heading to river X on Wednesday. Should be starting to turn on now that the flows are finally on the drop!

I have a new hat for you Clint. I will bring it back with me the next time I go to Missoula. By the way, are you ok with ears on a hat?

in reply to: Raft Companies? #43555

Sotar. In my opinion they are the best inflatable out there. They custom make each raft to your needs.

in reply to: What new products does fly fishing need? #43683

I said it the first time and I will say it again. A water proof glove for fly fishing that is light enough you can “feel” and has a neoprene cuff that is tight enough you can release fish without ever taking it off and your hand will stay dry.
