fishing dogs?

I lost my Brittany to old age in 2005. Kaycee was a great companion and a good birddog, but he hated fishing. That whole sitting still and being quiet thing was not for him. Our current dogs can’t behave around the house, so forget about the creek or the lake.
For those photo-journalists on this board, I’d say there’s a book here waiting to be written, judging by the responses.
My old Corgi Corky was a pretty good fishing companion. He was very calm and really wasn’t all that fond of people he didn’t know. Sadly he passed away a few years ago at 16. That’s him belong in 2002 with one of our younger Corgis.
We have 2 younger Corgis now. Great dogs and fairly obedient but I don’t think they would be good fishing companions. They are too rambunctious and would bother other people too much.
Love dogs. I’ve enjoyed seeing everyone else’s.

This is one of my fishing buddies. He has two issues though. He wants to retrieve the fish AND he always wants to be right next to me when I am rowing which can be a real pain. Love him to death though…

I’ve always heard Gorgis were pretty laid back.
