Forgot…if and when we do so, we need to call John Michael and a couple of other salty brothers on the Tejas coast.

    You out there Kendall?

    Brandon,
I think you and I need to get together and hit some salt!

Don’t know if he or is wife, Stacey I think, go to Rockport, but it may be worth a try.

There is also a guy down there named Lefty Ray Chapa who does ‘yak trips in the salt:

Let us know how you do.

I thought there would be snipers everywhere. Did any of you see any on the rooftops?

Those fish are simply beautiful, and acrobatic it seems as well. Nice slide show Steve.

Got my copy today as well. Congrats Aaron! I think Corey K. had some stuff in there as well, have not been through it all yet.

Somebody tell Drifter that someone stole his avatar!

Thanks for the help guys; sorry I highjacked your thread!

Man, now I am going to have to get a new truck! Maybe I could run my jeep into a river or something 🙂 What did you use to make the stand for the bed platform to rest on?

in reply to: Hey Drifter… #32921

Yes, it helps a lot. Thanks. I also noticed some maps in a wire basket on the underside of the shell. How did you affix the wire baskets to the shell? Also, I could not tell by the photos on T.F.M. if your bed-liner is a spray-on or a drop-in liner?
    Thanks again Drifter!

    Scott or David,
Could one of you explain the off camera flash shoe cord. What are its advantages and primary uses?
    Thanks guys,

Well done, but tell me about the Oscars if you can. I have had freshwater aquariums in the past, and I had Oscars and Tiger Oscars. I always thought they were aquarium fish, but I guess they are local for you? I think they are S. American Cichlids, so I guess I don’t understand how you would be catching them in your neck of the woods. Are they indigenous fish?

    Neal,
Those are smiles of true happiness! Well done my friend. It looks cold though…chuck those razors and let the man-fur come out; it makes for a warmer day on the water!

    No pun intended?

in reply to: Cold Damn Weather #33014

O.K., you guys might be in the negatives, but you are likely use to it. Dallas has been getting into the 20s! I know, I know, that is nothing comparatively speaking, but we are not winter people. The worst place you could ever be is in Dallas traffic during a little bit of ice. These people flip the switch to moron as soon as it freezes. I have been here too long and have grown accustomed to the weather. Now, when it gets this cold, plus the wind, I have a hard time taking my dog out so she can take a leak! I need to tech her to pee off the balcony.

Call me a puss if you wish, but where is the sun dammit?

Can’t go wrong with Kelty products. I have some of their gear, and I have never had any issues w/ any of it. Plus with their tents, I like the easy assembly and how they pack down.

I am sure there is a local Trout Unlimited Chapter somewhere over there. Have they got involved or have their efforts simply fallen on deaf ears? That is a shame.

Those are some nice browns! I never would have thought of Tenn. as producing fish that size. Do you operate in tailwaters mostly?
    Well done Mike!

Remember Tim, this board is frequented by many type-A’s, unlike those of us whom have the time but are simply too lazy to produce similar work.

Neal, that is awesome, once again! I think you need to est. a repos. of your own contributions. Hell, you may the beginnings of a book. And honestly, not blowing smoke, I would purchase a book containing all that I have seen you post over the months.
    Exceptional work!

    Sorry Neal,
I should have clicked on the other post first. Well done my friend!
