I think this is an awesome idea… a collection of what has been discussed would make getting to the info much easier. Also, I believe a similar thread on macro/shooting flies would be advantageous.Thank you Neal,

Being a photographer, and making a comment like that, I would expect to see some images of the fine Australian beaches, plus whatever may choose to grace them with their naked presence. Just a thought.
D.I love those reels! I sold the hell out of them and bought a few as well. I really do not use anything else. Plus they take a beating, like when we are on a flat at RR and the whole rig ends up in the mud for the post-catch pic or when you open your gear back too fast and send a reel flying across the parking lot. I’m glad that gear is still working for you , Shannon, and I would bet it will for years. You can also get that reel at Bass Pro Shops, and it comes in a pale metallic olive, a color only sold at BP.

The MA’s guts are sealed, while the BBS has exposed gears. That was enough for me as some of the places I fish can get nasty with debris. Plus, if you get the MA, you have a salt ready reel while you should not use the BBS in salt.D.
Thanks Cameron. I still have some shots you took of those Cutties when you did the Cuttie-Thon that I want to try my hand at. Once I grow some discipline and sit down and draw, I send you what I come up with.

That’s just embarrassing! That was also before I learned the wonders of scanning a piece rather than trying to get off a decent shot with my P&S Nikon. I do suppose the ugly one does show a line of progression, though. And the funny thing is that I thought that first one was pretty damn nice right after I finished it. But within the week, and b/c of everyone’s help at Red Dirt, that first one quickly became an eye-sore.

By no means would I currently consider myself to be in the artistic company of KP and Paul, but with their help, and the aid of Jeff Kennedy, I was able to understand aspects of drawing and paint which I previously did not understand.

There you two go again about glass! What do you do when you are on a tailwater and need to reach out and touch a southern Striper 50+ feet away? Do they have the backbone to put the hurt on the fish when it is time to pull them out of a patch of hydrilla or from under a stump?

If you buy him Renzetti I will disown you! Renzetti’s flagship is >$600. You can get the peak and some accessories for <$200, which would leave four bills for a new rod/reel combo. That being said, come over here or go to BP and look at the Peak vise. They have a great price, and I have never had a problem with mine. They are solid and have many additional features available. They are simple and rugged. My .02 D.
