Yeah come on down were we are getting down with the brown. Pics from some recent trips. I got into a few real good fish but never got them into a net but landed some real respectable fish though. The funny hat guy is Cody Smith and his 22″er I got the 19″er in the net yesterday on the Little Red here in AR. Let’s here from the south and keep it going.

Abe, Welcome my brother to the soft hackle club. I fish them alot and have great success. I was hooked on softies the first time I swung one into a charging rainbows view and it almost yanked the rod out of my hand. Glad your hooked on them and tying them is almost as much fun as fishing them.

Great story and bye the way I too like the single malt.

I must agree with Mike. That is very well put Tim! Damn nice fish!

Corey- I cheked out the JJ special and tied up a few for my next trip to big brown territory. Thanks for the link. What is your variation on the fly if you don’t mind my asking?

I looked at your flicker site and you are capturing some great shots. Very refreshing view of our beloved hobby.

Some more great looking browns guys. I’m jealous fo sho!
I fished the Little Red River last tuesday and hung three good sized browns and one very big fish but could not close the deal. I am hoping to put a fall brown hawg pic on this thread soon.

Corey- Another nice fish and I am guessing an autum splender is the fly? Man you are blessed to be in such a beautiful place. I also noticed in the first pic with the articulated zoo cougar it looks like it’s snowing in the background, that had to a great moment in your fishing memories! Also you have a great eye with the camera my friend!

Carry on gents. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing

You can Chad, you have to do like I did and get the hell out of Californa! I am a native and love to visit but don’t regret leaving that overpriced, overcrouded, overtaxed everything mess of a state. I do miss however shredding fresh powder at Kirkwood, Alpine Meadows, or Mammoth to name a few! You still have that but if you can’t go on weekdays that’s a total blowout also. Anyway!

Those are some pigs Guys! I hope to get some new pics this year if they ever stop generating on my home waters.

Corey, Is that a rattle snake I see impaled in that leopards face? Also another san juan worm gets the job nicely done in the second photo.

Micah, Holy $*@& man I want to fish with you sometime! Nice.

What a cute pup! That ought to be one smart and obedient dog.
Naia is a cool name but not the best for training. She will respond better with a name that rolls off the tounge and is short and distinct when said. Many dog owners give there dogs cute and kwerky names that are great but hard to use for training and you indicated training her for birding. Either way you have a beautiful new family member there and good luck with the training and name choice!

    Keep us posted on her.

I would also like to add. I thought I knew how to tie a clouser till I watched Bob do it. If you tie them like he does and not omit the epoxy the fly will last quit a bit longer. Check it out.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CnBgL0sAMk

Zach. I have had 50+ fish days on assorted san juans on the Little Red and some good days on the white as well. It must be a bad juju thang for you and that fly. Further, I’ll be damned if I can catch anything on a prince nymph yet. Although we tend to fish with confidence the flies we have confidence in! Makes sense to me.

Micah, I have the same capilene long johns in perfect condition I bought at an REI in Berkley about 20 years ago for skiing and snowboarding that now are used for wading. There products are a great buy when you consider quality and how long they last. I have no reason to buy a differnt brand and also will be a fan for life.

Sweet looking worm box Lando. love the chamois worms also!

    Hey Leonard,

I would love to hit taney for some night fishing with you again. They running water endlessly there too? I want to feesh badly!
The little red is nearing it’s power pool soon and baring any major rainfall we might get to fish the fall season before it’s over.

Did I hear you are reduced to spin fishing with all the water?

Are you going to Sowbug this year?

    Talk to you soon,

Nice weekend to say the least. Those are some sweet looking fish Micah. To catch that many nice fish in one weekend has got to be a personal best or something?
I see you have Patagonia waders. How do you like them? I have just recieved my second pair of wadmasters from them at no charge after sending them in for repairs. There customer service is first rate in my book.

Zach, my reaction would have been WHAT THE _____ ! But trying to justify a long drive to the fishing hole was getting harder to sell if you know what I mean. I even get low to mid 30’s mpg if I drive like a grandpa on a sunday. I hope it continues down. It should help get people out more and stimulate this mess called an economy a little anyway.

Acadianfly,I love your boat. I saw your post on the southern paddler. Those guys are great and very helpful. Did you paint the sides or tint the epoxy? I also love you monkey’s fist up front. Did you tie it yourself? How do you like the way she paddles and handles? Di you put the grafite epoxy mix on the bottom? Sorry for all the questions. Have a great day!

Hey Zach, I really like the new look and on my end the colors are vivid and the contrast is good. The banner really pops out and is very stunning. As some others elluded to thier monitors might need tweaking or replaced. I just got rid of an old monitor that
