That was a great deal! I have a bit more than that in supplies alone. Not counting the hours spent building. It was not about the money anyway, I had a lot of fun building the boat.

Sorry Barry I was offline for awhile. I acctually orderd a new computer yesterday this one is a 2000 model and it’s a little to slow. Anywho, I am going to lower my seat a bit in the boat wich will inturn lower my CG and I will just have to get used to the way she moves. I think a person could probably put a small tumblehome on the sides and it would not increase the wind signature too much but give you a liitle more freeboard. So, are you saying that you stood up in yours and if you did how did it work out? I have not tried that one yet.
I hope you get to build another one or even some of the other designs out there are interesting. Bye the way what did you get for your hard work$$. If you don’t mind me asking!
    Thanks for moving the thread!

I used Uncle Johns plans/ kit it had the stem and stern cut and the three ribs rough cut. The rest was up to me and how I wanted it to be. She is 15 ft long and has a 30 inch beam on top. the sidewalls are 10 skinny inches and I kinda wish she had a tumblehome to give me a little more freeboard. She weighs about 45 pounds and is glassed inside and out with a grafite/epoxy coated bottom for protection. She car tops very easily. It was fun to build and I would like to build some other boats as well.

Do you build ? How many of your fleet are wood? I like plastic boats also but there is somthing about a wooden boat!

    Thanks for the kind words!

Hey Nealpod, I have the olympus 720 sw which is the same camers as the 725 sw. They are designated that number to sell to certain reatail stores and the number is the only difference.
Having said that I have owned the 720 for almost a year now and really like it for all the reasons you are talking about and more. This little gem has many functions including a pretty good macro I’ve used to take some tying pics on the vice. It also has the under water features you so desire and I have taken a few shots under water but without being in the water you are shooting blind, as in you can’t see the screen so you don’t know what your capturing. So that is one drawback unless you want to get wet. There are many other features on this camera that you will probably not use much but they are there if needed. I have purchased a 1 gb memory card and in superhigh quality can still take almost 300 pics and in high quality about 600. You also need the card that says olympus to use the panoramic feature.
I also purchased the silicone cover for it and a screen cover to protect it. Another drawback is the lack of a viewfinder which is not a problem unless it’s really sunny and you can’t see the screen well.

If you get this camera buy it with confidence knowing it is a great little point and shoot that is loaded with nice features if needed. While it wont do what some of the bigger cameras will it’s still a good camera and you will enjoy not worrying about getting it wet. I also saved money shopping around and got a good deal at BUYDIG.com but there might be better deals out there now.

Good luck in the search and hope you enjoy whichever camera you choose!

I will try to attach a few pics of a boat I just finished building so you can see the photo quality.

Thanks So Much Zach, You made getting info on the great music you feature so easy! Ā

As for the ipod on the river? Not me, It stays in the car. I just love getting intune with my surroundings and hearing nature. Just my personal choice. Same goes for riding my motorcycle, I could have installed a radio on it but liked hearing the sounds of the road and the thump of the pipes as I roll on the throttle. My ipod gets most of it’s play either in the car or while spending countless hours all summer mowing 1.5 acres. Now that is a good time to zone out!

    Peace and great music,

Unfortunatley, I did not catch this fish it’s from one of the guys on another board and he was very proud to say the least. It’s somewere in arizona.
Yachting that is funny! I’ve done some in the Bay area years ago what a fun time but plenty of work especially since it was usually myself and the captian most of the time fighting the potato patch going under the golden gate on a 40 ft Irwin. We almost did the sail to Hawaii but he got hurt on the job and that never came to fruition. That would have been a great sail.

Zach big ups on the new house. It was the scariest and most rewarding thing I and my wife ever did and we never regreted it since our first was in California and sold for twice the price we payed in only 5 years and recently sold again for nearly 200k more than we got. Now we have an almost new Ā home that’s way bigger on 1.5 acers here in Arkansas for a lot less than the one in Cali with no land that was over 50 yrs. old and only 986 square feet. The only draw back is all that mowing and no fresh sushi down the street. There is always a trade off.

Good luck with the brookies. They are one of my favorite fish to catch if for nothing more than there beauty.

I have the Patagonia SST’s and finally got a leak in after alsmost 4 years. I sent them back thinking they would repair them, only to get there latest high end model new in the mail. I am very pleased with there return policy. I also sent Orvis a pair of mid priced waders that my son wore that had a leak in the bootfoot. They also sent a compareable new wader back no charge. So I can’t say anything bad there either. So far two for two.

    Happy and Dry!

I can second that reply. They are just a better choice if using beads etc. I nymph fish quite a bit and will almost always go for the t-bead flies unless I want to fish higher in the water colum. I fish in Arkansas mostly and we don’t have restrictions on lead here yet but i’ts always nice to try and stay green.
