She is a labradoodle and quite finicky. From what I have been able to learn in the past day, the breed originated Down Under as a guide dog for the impaired whom also had issues w/ pet dander and allergies. She already shows great signs in obedience: she walks right at my side, stops when I do, and she fetches at only 7 weeks old. I stuck a bugger pack under her nose and thought she was jump out of her fur. I am told the combo of full grown poodle and Lab make a great bird dog; I guess we will see. I still do not have a name for her though. Feel free to throw out some suggestions. Thus far, the three most popular have been “Hey!,” “No,” & “Dammit.”

She’s definately a cutie. Iwas just listening to a song by Fleetwood-Mac at the moment and the name of the song might be cool for the little cutie.

Not a bad idea Benjamin, but Stevie Nicks scares me. I really cannot describe it…maybe like those whom irrationally fear clowns??? But I like your thought process there. I have to come up w/ something soon though. The poor girl is bound to be getting confused.

Don’t know why, but the first name that came to mind was “Hazel”.

SWMBO threw out “Tippet”, to keep it fishing-related.

The wife is thinking “Naia.” What do you think?

What a cute pup! That ought to be one smart and obedient dog.
Naia is a cool name but not the best for training. She will respond better with a name that rolls off the tounge and is short and distinct when said. Many dog owners give there dogs cute and kwerky names that are great but hard to use for training and you indicated training her for birding. Either way you have a beautiful new family member there and good luck with the training and name choice!

    Keep us posted on her.

how big do these dogs get?
I think she is a great looking puppy, and I have heard about the half poodle breeds getting popular because poodles do not shed.

I like the name Ozzie for her, since the breed originates in Aussie land.

    Just my 2 cents

Thanks for the suggestions y’all. But the wife decided on Naia, you know how it goes. We expect her to top out around 50lbs., let’s hope. And Neal, your desires may come true if this one does not stop yelping all the time. This is our first dog, and it is truly a learning experience w/ a stubborn pup.
