ZON. Boulevard Brewery. Great for summer.

Yup. I hear they have some kind of magic seams that seal perfectly. Basically, there is room for some manufacturer to create the “perfect” fly fishing backpack. Maybe they could name them “youngster”, “middleager” and “oldster” to define weight and weight carrying capacities.

Focusing on number one; imagine working in horrible weather conditions and not getting paid for it! My clients understand that weather is a factor, and they don’t want to pick up the cost of repairs or replacements at today’s costs. shannon

Way cool. I have not seen the PDF before. My story is on page 8. “Package” deals are a whole lot more successful for sure, and make more sense for publications in general. And you never know where you will end up – check out the latest issue of Southwest Fly Fishing and the guy who wrote it even had photos of me in that article! Shannon

“IF money isn’t an object”, how about the 60mm macro. I don’t own every Nikon lens, but this is the sharpest one I own.

in reply to: Holgas for $9.99 through the 28th at UO! #67958

I can’t believe you would sacrifice a Holga just for its high quality optics! Didn’t someone come out with a “Holga Filter” for Photoshop? I think it was called “Crush! Kill! Destroy!”, but I may be wrong. All kidding. My guest cameras at my wedding were Holgas.

How about a Nikon Super Coolscan 8000?

I just want the line between want and need to get a little closer to intersecting!

in reply to: Bass Flies – need ideas #57440

As Lefty says, the Seaducer is probably the greatest Bass fly ever. If you can get them to run hook up, even better. shannon

Yup. The “fancy toys” are great, but you can’t buy eyes and a brain.

in reply to: A few more Hybrids #36252

    Hybrids are SO underrated.

If they are over the spillway and about to open the gates, it could be awhile – a long while. There is typically a burst of “things are great” PR that too quickly follows one of these flooding events, and that is due mostly to a local economy heavily dependent on fishing tourism. They have tested positive for “the Didy”, so beware of that.

Yup, it’s an investment – just be sure to depreciate it out. Shannon

Or is it MacGruber? I suggest a survey; MacGyver or MacGruber?

in reply to: How do you measure success/fun #35311

So it’s safe to say, we don’t measure success with a stringer, scale or tape measure. shannon

    Yo Matt,
You should send some of those images over to the Cataraft folks – they sure could use them! Shannon

    One word; Airstream.

Here’s the one I was looking to show folks – http://aviary.com/home . Vector based online editing. It’s only a matter of time before a lot of the heavy software lifting is done this way – witness Big Brother Google’s move into desktops with Google Apps. This kind of goes back to the original “What software for photo editing” question. Neither Lightroom, nor Aperture, can be considered powerhouse editors like Adobe Photoshop. Of course, these are the “early days” for Aviary, but Adobe would do well not to ignore them. shannon

I don’t use Lightroom, but I assume the same thing happens there as in Aperture, and that is once the libraries get “Big”, the whole thing begins to slow down significantly? And what I’ve taken to doing is deleting old projects from the library – backed up separately in raw and the vault anyway. Does that make sense for increasing speed? Shannon

in reply to: Nikon advice needed #67214

Camera body weight considerations should be taken with a grain of rock salt. I can not think of any examples, in any brand of camera, where a heavier camera is less durable than its lightweight cousins. Realistically, weight probably isn’t a “Top Five” consideration. shannon
