As a Pro Angler for Diablo, I am glad to see the so many folks have discovered Diablo as well. It’s the ultimate short distance standup boat in my opinion. I can typically get someone standing on the Adios, someone who may have never kayaked before, in less than 30 minutes. And it fishes in 360 degrees – meaning I can turn around on it (standing) and not have to adjust course.

I’m with Loren. I have the Nikon Pro V1 and am completely hooked on mine – for a carry all the time camera. Have two lenses and the adapter to use full size lenses. This camera is fantastic, and I routinely use it for video. Found a underwater housing (probably Chinese and I hope it has some quality) at http://www.cowboystudio.com/product_p/mk-wp-v1.htm but I am finding one on Amazon now too. Not exactly to take that plunge though (pardon the pun).

Still trying to chase one of his SoloSkiffs down. Anybody have one? Not likely I can get to Florida anytime soon, so sure would love to see photos. I am having a hard time determining true proportions.

Hate to be a spoiler, but my best starts on new things often start with books – good old paper paged books.

Sounds like rocket science to me!

Okay, I am (fairly) open minded. Love my Smiths. Like my Coastas. Will look at Kaenon.

Great guy too. I enjoyed talking to him the other day – for nearly 30 minutes. I am getting pretty jazzed about what I think is the next wave after kayaks.

Yup, it’s hot here in Texas (not today). I have one of these, and all I can find on the downside after a lot of use is the zippers get tougher and tougher to use. Yup, it can ride down when it has weight, but then I

Anybody remember Dallas Cowboy Robert Newhouse? That’s the legs you need to ride this bronco.

I use Copic air brush. Once you are weaned off the canned air, it’s pretty darn economical. It’s all a labor of love anyway – poppers are just not economical to home produce.

Gas prices to control FJ prices (unfortunately).

Thanks for that information. We are just at the beginning of this, and tendencies are to blame government for inaction and fear the worst. Clearer water on these shallower lakes probably means huge areas where vegetation will choke out fishing.

Headed to Tailwaters, Dallas, tomorrow – it’s time to DO IT! Settling in on the 580 in silver mirror.

in reply to: Why do fly fishermen cover their faces? #52028

My take on fly fishing exposure compared to other sun exposure is, in a word – reflectivity. You can wear the biggest brimmed hat and still get burned to a crisp if you are on the water. That makes a BUFF indispensable in my opinion.

Heck of an informative thread. A visual reference so to speak.

in reply to: Winter Ale #51023

You guys gotta’ get down south more – Rahr’s Bourbon Barrel-Aged Winter Warmer is a good place to start. Or, try the Real Ale 15th. Anniversary Russian Imperial Stout. We’re talking stout. This stuff doesn’t taste like potpourri.
