After all the research on underwater housings for the Canon G10, I ended up going with a housing for my 30D.  I figured if I was going to get a housing, I should do it right.

I went into it wanting the ability to shoot over/under or split shots as well as fully unerwater.  I decided to go with the Ikelite housing with the 8″ dome for my 10-22mm lens.  I cannot wait until I use this puppy in Baja, and especially in Alaska!  I will post when I get pics with it.

    Here is the rig:

Yah, these things are rated for 200ft, so as long as I clamp her down, I’m good.

    Cool Matt!

I’m watching this one closely. An Ikelite housing is on my gear list as well.

I can’t wait to see your photos…..To coin a phrase from Mr. Otto: “Dump a load!”

Yeah, housing has/is on my dream list as well. Bloody photography, there are more toys and doo dads to take it whereever you desire, and the only limit is $$. A part of me would love to do deep sky astro photography but my god the start up cost has me shivering.

    Matt it’s money well spent.
if you were a golpher, it would be new drivers and putters, if a biker a harley, if a bass nut, a 40g Bass boat outfitted to the nines, it’s all relative.

    enjoy

I am just glad that money spent in photography is always an investment.

Yup, it’s an investment – just be sure to depreciate it out. Shannon
