The thing about the Copic compared to a full out airbrush is the ease of changing colors and clean-up. On the Copic I think there really is no issue with either one.

If you are interested in a full out airbrush let me know. I might be willing to make somebody a good deal on a slightly used one.

Jeff, while I’m nowhere close to the level of John or most on here, I do agree with what he says. All of my fishing buddies carry PnS cameras and they do take some amazing pictures. But you can do a lot of different things with a DSLR. It’s a fascinating learning process.

I bought my first a few years ago to take HS Volleyball pictures of my daughter. Talk about jumping right into one of the hardest things in the world to capture, but I have loved it.

BTW, Love the blog, you have done a great job with it. Seen it first a few weeks ago on OAF.

Wow. Those flies could look like crap and your photos would make them look beautiful. Luckily they are really nice.

    Very nice.

Have you heard of a release date. I know there has been a lot of talk about this in that past. Then they released the D300S and talk slowed again.

    Good looking fly.

I have been playing with the craft fur dubbing brushes as well. Neal and his tube fly have inspired me to create some from all the EP fibers that I have laying around. Takes a little practice and some decent wire to get a nice brush.

I have the Dicapak and there is no way that I could get my camera in it in 60 seconds. You don’t want to be in a hurry and not get it sealed properly.

But it takes good shots above water while in the bag.

Finally, being straightforward about how much you want to spend on the trip is also helpful.

I think this is very important. It might seem obvious, because you should know if you can afford the trip or not. But a lot of times it’s about the different activities that pop up or their taste in restaurants. I used to run with some engineers and architects and it was hard to keep up. I quit going when it became obvious that they were adjusting their trips to fit me financially. Great guys, but I was holding them back.

Jeremy or Chuck will put you on fish for sure.  If they’re running water, Chuck will take you by boat and drift.

There’s also some good feeder creeks that run into Taney that are good in the winter.  Bret Rader has got those places down.

Am looking for a very good winter season here on Taney.  Rainbows are in great shape.  Water levels are down (lakes) and this should yield to no generation periods on Taney.  Patterns are water running in the am and off in the pm.

    Good Luck!

Thanks for the input, I’m going to make an effort to stop in on a few of the different shops while I am down that way.  I’m assuming you you are with Lilleys’ Landing based on your handle…

Yep, he IS Lilley’s Landing. He has a nice resort, nice flyshop and he is a nice guy.

    You are welcome Phil.

Jeremy is a good guy. He will put you on some fish.

We will be fishing Taney the nights of the 27th and 28th and Crane somewhere in between.

I do, but not much. Has great quality though.

The only support that I have used so far is a tripod.

Absolutely beautiful shots Graham. You inspired me to have a fight with my wife. It hasn’t happened yet but it will as soon as the UPS driver drops off the waterproof bag and wireless remote.

Boat guys – do you think a big box has to be waterproof?  Would you sacrifice waterproof for price?

I would. I have moved all of my smallmouth flies over to Planos. It feel it’s much easier to keep everything organized that trying to place a hook in a slot that is way to small. They are not waterproof, but I have soaked flies in many boxes that were supposed to be waterproof. You bust up a plano and your only out 6 or 7 bucks.

So here is something HUGE in LR3 – you can export slideshows as videos with music.  But even more impressive is the fact that it can be done at 1080i resolution :o.

That would be worth the upgrade right there if it allowed you to add actual video. I do a lot of slideshows from photos but I have to be able to incorporate some actually video clips in as well. Any product recommendations for that?
