    Hey guys –

I have been doing a bit of dealing with Dyna King lately, and I noticed that our own Neal Osborn has been given the job of photographing all of their products for their new website (which is not yet finished).

Thanks Zach.  It is hard to keep a secret on this board, hahaha.  The Dyna-King project is a very large endeavor, which includes photographing and archiving all their inventory for both print and internet media.  They are doing a great job updating their web site and I believe it will be the premier example of modern marketing for the fly fishing/tying industry. It has been a pleasure working with them.  The web page will go live very soon.

Here are some examples of their products.

    Vices

    Accessories

Hope it is not cutting into your fishing too much 🙂
I cannot view the pictures at work, but I cannot wait to see them when I get home.
Those are better than I could have imagined! Very Nice Neal.

    Very nice, Neal.  Dynamite images.

I trust that as payment for your services, you’ve been able to keep all the equipment you photographed!

LOL Mick.  Indeed I did manage to keep a few “goodies” – notable mentions include the metal head cement well, the hair stackers, the parachute tool, and the hair packers (awesome accessories that really make life more convenient).  These would make supreme gifts and stocking stuffers FYI.

Honestly, the hardest thing about photographing an entire product line (literally hundreds of vises, accessories, etc) is not the work involved, but rather seeing all that equipment in the studio and having to send it back.

If anyone wants first hand advice on any of the Dyna King products send a PM.  I literally have had my hands on it all and have tied flies on every vise.  So I can give you my honest opinion and feedback.

    Neal.
That is some marvelous shots you made.
Do you use a phototent ?
And what kind of lightning do you use? The light looks like its a bit “up” in colortemperature. 3500-4000 kelvin ??

I was thinking about getting a bit more serious photograhping flies, and Presently i have a Canon EOS 350D and a 100m makro 2,8f.
Would you be so kind to write a couple of does and donts in photographing flies?

If my thread is off topic regarding the photo underforum please feel free to move to that location.

    Regards
    Allan
