It doesn’t always happen, but sometimes the last day of the show sees the best deals.  Some vendors would rather sell out than pack up what they brought.

I won’t be in Somerset, but I stopped my Marlboro, MA today.  Show looks pretty good.  I was there to test for CCI today so I didn’t get to see too much.  I am going back tomorrow to give it a real good going over.

Mine are probably under the 10 foot snow piles on either side of my driveway(I’m up in New Hampshire)!  I won’t see them until spring!

    😉

I expect it’ll be here in a day or two if they get Logan dug out.

The guys over at Global Fly Fisher have put together an Excel spreadsheet with tons of formulas.

The PDF guide that you can download is good too.

I am not too familiar with the Patagonia Fly Fishing line, but I do own quite a few products from the climbing/mountaineering line.

The Rapid River has an actual thin Neoprene cuff internally.

I have the L.L. Bean Rapid River wading  jacket and love it.  A whole lot of bang for the buck.

If you are planning on tying them up, check out his book Barr Flies.  It has all of his patterns plus variations and there is quite a bit of info on how he fishes each fly.

With the latest generation Microsoft has done a lot of things right.  Where it still falls behind is the software.  The latest edition is a step in the right direction but it isn’t anywhere where iTunes is.  The Zune store is okay, but everything is listed in those stupid Microsoft credit things.  Price wise, there is very little difference between the new Zunes and an iPod.  An 8 GB Zune costs just as much as an 8 GB Nano.  Another place where it falls behind is accessories.  There are hundreds of iPod accessories but you might not find what you are looking for in a Zune accessory.  Just a numbers game there.  More iPods means more people making stuff for them.  In the end, it is really a matter of whether you want to buy into Microsoft or Apple.  Both devices are locked to either companies business model.  Unless you are the type that will buy only CDs and rip them yourself.  The Zune does have a bigger screen than the iPod (except the iPod Touch).

    P.M. Me with any questions.

    Hi,

Doesn’t Bob White do the Gierach illustration for Fly Rod and Reel?

Glenn is the Michigan artist who teamed up with Jerry Dennis at times.

    Kat

    You’re right.

Reminds me of a great signature I saw on a board once (might have been this one I don’t remember):

“My greatest fear in life is that after I die, my wife will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.”

Hi Jim, and welcome to the board. According to Amazon.com, Gierach has a new book out in May, titled “Fools Paradise” and co-authored by Glenn Wolf, a guy I don’t know about. It will set you back $24 in hardcover.

Just looked it up on Amazon.

Here is the way I understand it and it isn’t as cut and dry as it seems.
