MemberWhere am I happiest?
That’s an easy one, anywhere I’m able to spend time with my son. Specifically when we’re on a stream sharing a run. Sometimes, just watching him sit on a rock looking butterflies is all it takes to make me happy.Jeff

Joel ThompsonMemberThis is kind of a tough post for me as so many places make me very happy. I love being on the river in the fall when the colors are booming, and I love going on that backpack trip that take you into places that make you feel like you are the first person to have ever stepped foot there before. But if I have to choose one place it be…..at my cabin with my wife and dog Riley. It is the greatest basecamp in the world! Tons of great hiking and fishing.

Joel ThompsonMemberYea Seafood I am a very blessed man! I got the pleasure of sharing it this year with Cameron and PoudreRiver from the board here. I think they could both tell you what a special place it is.
The cabin is located in the Flint Creek mountain range in western Montana.

::) ::) 😉 😉The first one was a shi**y office… gawd… we were talking the other day about that run of weather… unbelievable mate!
The second one… a glorious day, my first Kingfish and no small part of it due to you and John Fraser… a fishing memory never to be forgotten. A huge head start in the salt due mainly to yourself. It helps that you tooks such a bloody good photograph of it too!!!! What was it Fraser said… “Sh*t.. You couldn’t punch that smile off his face”!

MemberAwesome thread, personal glimpses into folks of our blood.
Here, a place called Grande Avoille Cove, near the delta of the Atchafalaya River basin system.
It was the central religious place of my people for 8,000 years (I’m a member of a tribal nation on a reservation in south Lousyana) and I grew up here with my dad in a little wooden bateau he built. I still have the boat, and the cove.
