Ok…I am ready to be smacked across the face by some of you but I want to ask the question anyway.

I know my ripe old age of 33 has me a bit more “aged” than the iPod 20 somethings but I have to ask the younger crowd what you all think of, have heard of, and know about the Zune?

I have no problems with iPod and am under the assumption that it is the superior device.

There’s something hilarious about attempting to avoid lemming status by purchasing a Microsoft product.

With the latest generation Microsoft has done a lot of things right.  Where it still falls behind is the software.  The latest edition is a step in the right direction but it isn’t anywhere where iTunes is.  The Zune store is okay, but everything is listed in those stupid Microsoft credit things.  Price wise, there is very little difference between the new Zunes and an iPod.  An 8 GB Zune costs just as much as an 8 GB Nano.  Another place where it falls behind is accessories.  There are hundreds of iPod accessories but you might not find what you are looking for in a Zune accessory.  Just a numbers game there.  More iPods means more people making stuff for them.  In the end, it is really a matter of whether you want to buy into Microsoft or Apple.  Both devices are locked to either companies business model.  Unless you are the type that will buy only CDs and rip them yourself.  The Zune does have a bigger screen than the iPod (except the iPod Touch).

    P.M. Me with any questions.

For starters, it’s micro-soft (nough said)
But I’ll continue.   😉  Look on apple’s website, they have refurbished ipods at about $100 off.  Even if you go new, you can’t beat the ipod, it’s simple to use, setup, etc.  I have a 30 gig and love it.  I have all of my Itinerant Angler PodCasts and music on it.  As far as the 20 somethings having the lock on it, my dad and mom, both in their 60’s each have one and love it.  It’s the only techno thing they own, that they haven’t called me for help or support.  As for the XP PC, let’s just say I get more calls than a son deserves.   😀

Wow!  33 Puberty?  Ripe maybe, old NOT!  Don’t insult us 60 year olds. You’ve got at least 40 years of fly fishing adventure in your future. Is the Zune is a bonefish fly from Zimbabwe??
