Well said on the BIIt Zach. I have been selling a lot of them for fishing are creek that runs through the property here on the ranch. It has a much slow action to it then the BIIx and a really nice feel to it. For Medium to Short casts you can put a cast down on the water as light as a feather.

Thanks Zach! Hey I tried the link you put on your reply and it didn’t work. Do you think it is operator err on my part or something else?

in reply to: New Winston BII MX #18215

I don’t know Mike. I am a huge fan of the BIIX and the BIIT and I have sold a ton of them this summer. I will be very interested in the MX. Hard to believe that they can improve on the others but I am sure that Zach will shoot us all straight when he test drives that bad boy!

I have two BIIx’s and have not for one second had any buyers remorse.

    Dave,

I confess too. I have never caught a brown trout that was doing the DEW!

    Zach,

I heard back from my buddy in Bozeman and he has recommended going up and fishing the Gallatin in the Canyon. Easy river to wade and easy to read.

He also said it might be tough getting a hotel. But he said the Hilton Garden is pretty nice and close to the down town area.

For a place to eat I would recommend eating at the Chop House in Livingston! Best food around in my opinion.

By the way what is your story about?

Zach, I just sent an email to a buddy of mine in Bozeman to find out some info for you. As soon as I hear from him I will pass along to goods! 😉 He is a retired guide and fishes all the time so I am sure he will be able to point you in the right direction.

    Zach,

You should hook up with Cameron and PoundreRiver and come up to my cabin. The creek is fishing really well and so is the lake. The rest of the state is under restrictions on the rivers and it is not looking good for any relief! The only good part about this is that I might now be able to hook up with Cam and the boys to fish “my neck of the woods”!

You may still be able to fish the yellowstone but it is hard to say. I know some great guides in Bozeman if you would like me to hook you up with someone.

Thanks Dave! I am heading there in five minutes!

Zach, the Madison fire is 100% contained and they are just doing clean up on it now. My twin brother was the fire management officer on the fire and he just got home today.

It is hotter than sin in Montana right now and the rivers are taking a huge nose dive and water temps are going up in a hurry. They shut down the upper 19 miles of the Big Hole today and I would imagine that very soon there will be restrictions on all of the rivers.

Good post Dave. It is getting hot, dry and windy here in Montana and anyone traveling this way should use a lot of caution when enjoying a campfire in the woods. I don’t necessarily agree with all of your thoughts on the fighting of fires though, but I don’t want to get into a debate about that right now.

What I really want to know is how the Missouri has been fishing. Next week I have to take a couple of very famous people fishing on the Mo and I have not been there since early May. I don’t want to get my ass handed to me in front of these guys so any advice you would be willing to give me would be greatly appreciated as I know you fish the MO a lot. My trip with these guys is on Tuesday July 10th.

If anyone else has any good input for me as well that would be great!

You just got to love those winds on the Rocky Moutain Front in Montana! Doesn’t sound like the report I gave you was very helpful in hooking the big boys. 🙁 Let’s just blame that on the wind.

in reply to: Office = Simms Orange #17337

Zach, you will have to send me a picture of your office when it is all done. I would love to forward it to my Simms Rep! He would get a huge kick out of it!

And not that I am a fan of either team I think that hog looks way cooler than a long horn!

That is a great picture Mending Machine. You really know how to throw salt in the wound.

    in reply to: Yo—Moosedog #17324

God I wish I could have been there! I had to take a couple of bait fisherman to the Missouri. They one “employees of the month” here at the ranch and their reward was a guided fishing trip with me. It would not have been that bad if they would have had even just a little interest if fly fishing. I wouldn’t let them bring their spin cast stuff on my boat because I really didn’t want a treble hook in the side of my face. It was a very long day and all I could think was I should be fishing with Clint and Mending machine!

Glad to here it was worth the drive for you. One of these days we may actually hook up!
