Joel ThompsonMemberThat is one pretty fish! Nice post Aaron.
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberGreat post Bob. I especially like the part about allowing others to help because they want to. For a lot of us it is therapy to help in a time that we feel so useless.
Life is short all. Don’t let the small things get to you and enjoy every opportunity that comes your way.

Joel ThompsonMemberI will be up to pick my shirt up the 25th of May.
I will warn the neighbors….. π
Joel ThompsonMemberThanks for being my model Mark! The shirt looks good swinging that spey rod! As you all know Mark won his shirt by answering the question correctly of what the Itinerant Angler shirt, the Fiberglass Manifesto shirt, and the Troutaholic shirt all had in common. (Rick Marcum designed and made them all was the correct answer by the way)
Zach, I will shoot you an email right after I finish this post!
Thanks Guys!
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberGreat post Nate! Looks like for a youngster you already have your priorities straight in life!
How did you do in the track meet?
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberCongrats David! Looks like a handle for a while and then a new fishing buddy!
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberI will take it once I get the shirts in and ready for shipment Eric. I think everyone around here is good for it. Thanks for the order by the way! π
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberCrane flies for sure! Brown trout love them and they are fun to fish. Fishing them with a long rod and dapping them on the surface with produce big fish and explosive takes! Good times!
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberThanks! The only thing hurt were my ears from the wife screaming while it was going over,, or maybe it was me doing all the screaming I don’t recall. ;D
I’ve got a Stihl Farm Boss chainsaw so I’m in good shape for the cleanup. Should be somewhat back to normal by next week I hope!
Mike don’t be afraid to throw some of that cut up oak in Ron Snow’s truck before he heads back up north. I can always use some good fire wood. π
Glad to hear you are ok Mike. Our prayers are with all the folks down there.

Joel ThompsonMemberHere is a link to view a trailer from the movie “Black Sheep”. http://www.blacksheep-themovie.com/
I wish I had a copy of it to watch right now as it is snowing AGAIN here in Montana. They are calling for over a foot in the high country today with even more coming tonight. The snow pack is looking great again this year so the fishing should be great as well. That said I really wish I was in NZ right now chasing trout in the sun….
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberTim,
I after caught brown trout on the mouse during the day on several occasions. I think it works best from a boat when you are covering a little more water. I also think it works better when the water is a little high and a little off color or at least that has been my experience.
Remember you need to believe so talking in a Mickey Mouse voice saying things like “help me” and “oh nooo I fell in the river what ever will I do” seem to really help with that. πJoel
Joel ThompsonMemberCool photos Neal! I love a good lightning storm!
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberOne thing I forgot to mention about the trip all. There is a MUST SEE New Zealand movie out there that I had never heard of before. It is called “Black Sheep” and it is freakin hilarious! The only thing I am going to tell you about the movie is think Mutant Sheep!
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberFeed that addiction Shane! Fishing trumps golf any day!
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberThanks for all the comments and compliments guys!
Morsie you and Simon are the reason I rented from Tony. Thanks for the great recommendation as we could not have been happier! Snappy dresser is an understatement Morsie! More like the King of Fishing Fashion! π
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberOk Cam, you asked for it! The picture of me with the rainbow is not a good picture but it is one of the ugliest rainbows I have ever seen! Still I love his fight and the fact I fooled him!

Who would have ever thought one would stumble across this in New Zealand? Being a HUGE simpsons and having a long time friend who did the special effects for the movie I had to get a shot of this!

Joel ThompsonMemberCam, Riley gets spoiled where ever he goes. He just has one of those faces. We had some friends take care of him who have a couple of black lab females so I am not even sure he missed us!
Joel ThompsonMemberHey All,
I just got off the phone with Ron and he and Mike are ok. Ron said he watched the tornado form right before his eyes and got his family inside to safety. The twister ended up touching down about a mile and a half from his home so he suffered no damage but it sounds like Mikes house was not as lucky. His house was NOT destroyed but did suffer some damage.
This is a real bummer for both Ron and Mike as this is the weekend of their project healing waters fundraiser. It sounds like a couple of the vets that were planning to attend ended up having to change their plans as a result of the storms. Ron assured me they were going to make the best of it and do what ever they could to make it an enjoyable event for the vets that could attend. Gotta love that spirit!
If I hear more I will let you all know.
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberGuys your comments are too kind about Deb and I. We just try to be the people are dog thinks we are.
