I’d think you could have extended the oar mounts up with some inserts, right Adam?

I’ve never fished out of a wood drift boat. I can believe that they are all light and elegant but I know with my less than excellent rowing skills, I’d damage one pretty quickly. Maybe for later down the road.
Actually, if I were buying a wood drift boat, I would seriously hire Kyle Kosovich to build me one of his wooden longboats.

Not a lot; the main issue is obviously wind resistance most places versus swamping in the places where high sides are really needed.

I’m sorry man, I do not agree with you, nor has anyone mentioned feeling pain in this discussion. Fish mouths are cartilaginous with very thin skin; any pain they feel would be no worse than an ear piercing.
But “sloshing guts” as you put it is a real issue. Fish have a number of sensitive systems, most notably their swim bladders, that need to be treated carefully (provided you’re not going to eat the fish, in which case handle it however you want).
Boga grips absolutely have their place, but the safest way to contain any fish is in a large, rubber net, held in the water.

If you lived locally and could spend the time to really get familiar with the area and its rivers, I would say the fall; there are large fish in the Park and they are most accessible in the fall, and it is beautiful then.
However, to me the real appeal of the Smokies is not the chance to catch yet another planted brown trout, however large: it is the opportunity to target native brook trout in their natural environment.
The problem is not the tags, it’s the link to flickr. You need to be sure you are providing a link to a file ending in .jpg rather than a directory ending in /directory/.
I dug up the first one’s code and changed it for you so you’d have an example.
With all due respect to my fellow Georgia anglers (especially Gary, who is just being helpful): screw the DH.
The effect of line drag in the water is definitely a significant factor on the stress put on your tippet, provided of course that the fish is moving sideways.
