MemberOkay guys, let’s switch gears to print publishing (more $!):
1. Didymo: need a nice opener that shows didymo in a stream or on a fly. You NZ boys oughta have an advantage here, unfortunately.
2. Bull trout/dolly/artic char: Closeup on the fish–full body or headshot.
3. Steelhead: closeup with fly hanging from jaw.
4. Steelhead: angler fishing in miserable conditions.
Since these are for print, we will need hi res, of course.
Thanks,
Phil

MemberI should note that these will all run small, in the “Headwaters” section of AA, so we’re looking at $100 each. So not THAT much more than the blog stuff.

MemberI am not a photographer. I fish a lot and occasionally I carry a point and shoot deal. Obviously, right. I had a few Dolly shots on file and thought I would respond just to prime the pump.

Now lets see some real photographs…

MemberHi Phil,
I don’t have any didymo photos, although I do have a series of didymo cleaning station shots. These shots were a good way to prove our gear was clean when coming home through Australian customs.
Cheers

MemberJust with a P&S so I’m sure it’s not the quality your looking for but thought I’d throw it out there.

MemberHi Phil. This isn’t my photo to offer but I’m sure the boys from Southland Fish & Game NZ (southland@fishandgame.org.nz) will give you permission to publish it… it’s in their interest to publicise what didymo looks like so anglers both here in NZ and potential visitors etc are aware and viglilant.
It’s arguably the most famous/infamous image of how devastating didymo can be. Pictured is Fish & Game NZ field officer Stu Sutherland on the Mararoa River, in the Southland region of the South Island, NZ.
Hope it helps.

MemberGeez I don’t logon for two weeks, and miss this post – among others. Oh well. In the spirit of the request, I thought I’d put up some of mine.

Bulls are a favorite of mine, and I’m blessed to live in an area where I can target them regularly.
Enjoy!
Frank.

MemberThanks all. Editors decided not to go with the char/dolly/bull shot (which is one of the great things about this method of submission: no one had to spend money to mail or anything), but I’ll keep all these in the memory bank for future use.
1. Got a steelhead pic from Henry Gilbey.
2. And Jeannie Ackley was kind enough to run down to a river near her in NZ and shoot some didymo. Thanks again to all!
