I have always been a huge Scott rod fan. Most of my rods however are the s4 or s3. I have even owned the old eclipse series.

After selling an SLT I purchased the G2 and got a chance to take out the 885/4 yesterday to do some dry fly fishing.  LOVE THE ROD…LOVE IT.   😀

Throwing 12′ leaders with small #22 was like slicing butter with hot knife.

I think I’m going to have another extended lunch meeting today with Mr. G2  ;D

I have had my eyes on one of those for about 4 years. I will eventually wind up getting one. They are the best all around trout rod that I have cast for my taste.

    I got a 905 G2.
Great rod that does everything: dries, hoppers, weighted nymphs and even small streamers. Don’t know why it’s considered (only) a dry fly rod?…

Here’s a brook trout from Austria.

Wow, Jay you got one of the coolest reel seats I’ve ever seen.

    Thanks Zach.
It sure is a nice seat. I just love the almost spartan cosmetics of the G2. Very understated.

I do think there are too many models in the G2 line. It just gets confusing for the buyer.

Sweet. Glad you like that rod. I fish mostly a G2 885/4 or the 884/4. Love them both. They send me one of the new 9′ 3wt S4 rods a few months ago….it’s my new favorite light line, techie tailwater dry fly rod. Still never gonna part with my G2 rods for all around trout fishing.

Actually, the G2 is stronger than the older G series, especially with the new materials used when rolling the blank.

I never looked at my G2 as a dry fly rod,
