Did you dig the midge burgers? That was one of the nastiest things I’ve seen anyone feast on.

    Zach,

Thanks for the info. I hope proper trout handling won’t be the only lesson the kids pick up that weekend.

    Thanks for your help.

I don’t mean to highjack your thread Dusty, but I am planning a trip for some kids down to Dry Run in August. Can I bank on fishable conditions there all the time outside of heavy rain events, or is the generation schedule something for me to watch there as well?

The Prodigal Son returns. I have been looking for Jim for the past couple of months. Nice to know he is doing well. I will look for my catalog in the mail this week. Maybe I need to make a trip to the Alley and catch up to him.

I have a Macinaw Jacket that will be my son’s one day. It is twelve years old and looks as good as the day I bought it. Filson is worth every penny.

I like to wear something tight up against the skin like an under armour or bike pant, and then a fleece on top of that. The biggest problem is getting to “little Willi” in time of need.

I also use foot warmers in between my two layers of socks. They help the feet. On the really cold days I will use one of those lower back heating pads you can that are like the foot warmers. Seems like the warmer my core is, the better off I am.

Take care of your neck too. A fleece neck warmers does wonders for me.

Jason, I didn’t make it to the castle on this trip, but I have been there in the past. I did make it to the Chapel for the first time this year. It was just after the sun came up and I found the Chapel to be a really cool place to sip some coffee and down a granola bar before I harrassed some of the locals.

    Jim,

Keep up the good work out west buddy. Let me know if you get back here anytime. We are scheduled to start our stream improvements any day. We are just waiting for some dry weather.

I thought that was Lampros in those pics.

Nice to see you doing well. The browns are missing you here at home. Been some hogs caught as of late, and the Tricos were just starting before we got this cool weather.

This is from Sunday, I love to use midges this time of year. I’m not sure you can see the fly, but it is a Phantom Midge in the top lip of this brown.

Andy Kim down on the San Juan does a nice job with midges.

I have been using one of his patterns acalled the Jong Special for the past year or so. Coats and Clark makes a thread he likes that I use. It has a braided texture to it that seems to help with the segmentation.

The hardest part seems to be gaining confidence in a size 24 fly. Huge fish will eat them, but fishermen are hesitant to use them. I tie a size 30 midge that works well on the tailwater I fish, but I don’t know if you need to go that small out west.

    Good luck

Pablo’s attitude and comments prove Zach’s point. It is not surprise that the guy who ” needs to remain anonymous” is also the one slinging mud.

Talk about a Horse laugh, I’m still giggling over his inflated image of himself and his celebrity. Give me a break, this is fly-fishing, not making movies or politics. Do you really think we will all fawn all over you Pablo? Hate to burst your bubble but I could care less who you are, I already know all I need to about you, and I don’t care to interact with a person like you under any circumstances.

Edit: Removed offensive term. – Zach
