MemberBack to your original question, I think a boat with a flat stern is easier than one with symmetrical bow and stern.
Tim Pommer
MemberBut the real issue is, it’s so darn counterintuitive.
Tell me about it.

MemberGood stuff AO.

MemberYeah, we were using one while in Louisiana. Seemed fine to me but my grandma could probably pole better than me.

MemberAs for the problems with stripping streamers and sharkskin, I will not have that problem. I use a full sink line to strip streamers and just change spools when I decide to go that route. Usually when I’m streamer fishing, I’m using a totally different rod and setup for that reason only.
EYup, me too.

MemberI am a little suprised that someone has not come up with something better than sharkskin. Surface coating/texturing technology in other industries is fairly advanced.
The patent runs deep.
Tim Pommer
MemberMy guess is the guys that came up with it in the lab don’t fly fish.
Even if this were true, which it isnt, the lines would have been thoroughly tested and tweaked by guides and sales reps before it was put on the market. Fly lines and rods have too much impact on fly fishing to neglect customer input throughout the design phase. Reels (at least for inland fishing) and other tackle do not play nearly as critical role and dont need nearly the same amount of feedback from customers.

MemberI love that experimental shot John.

MemberNate,
Are you sure you didnt mean WY and not WI?
Tim Pommer
MemberAlthough the context is pretty obvious, I’d love to here the back story on that one.
Tim Pommer
MemberI was considering buying a new one, but this just kind of fell in my lap.
Ouch.
Tim Pommer
MemberI have been using nothing but custom made ostrich skin lines for the past decade and can’t see using anything else.

MemberPurty plateaus right there.

MemberSweet stuff.
Tim Pommer
MemberThat fits right in there, doesn’t it? What kind of music are you playing, Clark?
Zach
I think his hat sums it up pretty well.

MemberTim,
Not yet, I saw maybe twenty fish, but no schools along the shore line. I’m saying 2 weeks, I’ll keep you posted.
Water temp was 44, it was a bit on the cold side when I was wading.
I may have to make a trip down there in about 3 weeks.
Tim Pommer
MemberMaybe next year, Rio will come out with a Spey Carp Line. 😉
Nice fish Mike, is the XXX Shore heating up yet? Or is it still a bit early?
Tim Pommer
MemberI haven’t done that stretch yet and have heard that there are some huge fish in there.
Yes there are.
Tim Pommer
MemberI use a Gamakatsu live bait hook for a stinger most of the time- amazingly sharp, and very fine wire.
2x

MemberRick,
Is it a three seater or two? Congrats on your new boat. I hope your first trip is ripping big streamers on the PM.
Post pics soon!
