Last I checked, a real fly fisherman is a person completely decked out in the newest Simms 700 dollar waders, a super flashy chest pack with every tool imaginable hanging off it, and casting the new Z-Axis with an Abel reel.

I actually saw a guy in Central Park, NYC casting in the ponds for carp, completely decked out in about 50,000 dollars worth of Orvis junk.

    Zach,

You and I both know that it could well be worth fighting those crowds behind BSD for some of those super toads.

I am hopeing that this rain slows down some, I need to get out there before work relocates me away from the south.

Any one have any other suggestions on places to go other than the White?

    Matt-

I’ll be there on the 1st and 2nd for sure but I’ll probably try to avoid the weekend zoo.

Yup, if they are stocked than definately, they wont be as developed as the wild bunch.

    Zach,

I think the size/maturity of these fish have to do with the growth rates of Lake Erie steelhead.

I fish the Bighorn in MT quite a bit and for some reason that river has some fish with some super nasty mouths.

What’s with the black spots? Not the normal steelhead spots but some mutated looking ones in the third pic?

    Sweet fish.

HAHAHA, I am glad to see that I am not the only one who cuts up old crappy flies for the hooks, beads, and dumbells…

I thought it was just my Dutch heritage speaking out.

Keep the egg yarn, it works better than McFly Foam for the veil on nuke eggs.

Most of my friends make fun of me for having too round of eggs.

    Zach,

I have messed with eggs for a long time having spent the greater portion of my life fishing steelhead in Michigan.
